Any word on the framerate issue getting fixed between now and release? Going back and forth between the PES and FIFA demos really highlights the stuttering framerate that kicks in pretty frequently in PES. Probably the biggest issue with the game at the moment.

I know why EA doesn't do it, but it's a shame the manual passing settings aren't the defaults, as they do so much to show off the quality of the game engine. I just played several games of the demo with all manual, and the gameplay was sublime. Managed about 53% possession with Dortmund vs Juventus ...

Surprised no one has mentioned the slowdown, which is pretty frequent. I would certainly hope that is gone by the retail version, but I'm not assuming it will be.

I'll just add that it's preposterous that slow is not the default game speed. It's much preferable. I know you can switch it off, but that doesn't help you for online games.

I've warmed up to the game a bit after more playings--in the end, I'm sure I'll get it simply because I'm such an NFL guy--but if you don't have much preference, I can't see grabbing this game over NCAA. It really feels like the NCAA 04/Madden 04 split.

Mostly, the demo made me want to go and break out APF 2K8. So I did. That's pretty much the extent of it, though.

It's amazing how much Backbreaker looks and feels like the original NFL 2K. The player models really have the exact same quality to them, the playbooks are similarly watered down, and the whole effect is a jarring combination of things being alternately much better and much worse than Madden ...

I traded in MW2 for BC2 despite having a lukewarm response to the demo, and so far I've been pleased. After all, I still have MW1, so when I feel like playing COD, there's nothing to stop me from popping it in. (And having done so, the servers are still full.)
