Call of Battlefield 3

The Battlefield series is about massive multiplayer.I am confident DICE will deliver,but will refrain from irrational exuberence until I see something from that mode.

Agree. Sick graphics, but I had bad company 2 and black ops and never even tried the campaigns. Just give me MP for shooters, especially battlefield.

Got a 15% off code from EA for my birthday and was going to preorder BF3 but they don't have it on their site for the 360 or Ps3 - only the PC. Kind of odd. I'll just wait I guess. Game looks awesome.

"Battlefield 3 will have lower framerate and resolution, lose certain effects on consoles"

According to DICE executive producer Patrick Bach, the console version obviously won't have all the graphical bells and whistles of its PC counterpart. No, it doesn't. BF:BC2 was, and is, a great looking, great playing game. BF3 will be better looking, at least, than that. It's not even a story; not sure why they chose to report that. If you think BF:BC2's framerate sucked, then yeah...you might be disappointed. Then again, you might have your expectations set a little too high...

That's good to hear. I never played BF2, and I take your word for it. Just a little disappointed to find out what we've been seeing hasn't been from a console, like I assumed it was.

I think it's a perfectly fair point to report that the trailers are being pulled from a tweaked out PC version. The vast majority of sales will be on console, so it's a little disingenuous to show all these vids without mentioning that they don't reflect the final product most will be playing. I was really impressed with the trailers myself, but knowing that the console version won't look as good, and more disappointing to me, will be at a lower fps, kinda sucks imo.

Personally I've always found the battlefield series to be so-so looking and the 60 fps of COD feels so great. Then again, all the other battlefield games on console were 30 fps, so if you liked the previous battlefield games there's no reason to think you won't be satisfied with this one.

It's fair to report it, I suppose, but I didn't think it was a question that those were PC videos...and high end ones at that. But, maybe I'm paying too much attention to all of it because I'm so excited to see it get here. Thing is, I love the BF series, and BF:BC2 is great from my standpoint. If a game is a solid 30fps, it's just as good as a solid 60...minus the 'shiny-ness' that 60 brings...and oftentimes, 60 just looks plastic to me.

It almost would've had to have been a new console, and not the existing ones. There are some real lookers on the 360...but nothing like those videos. Don't worry, it won't be a stuttery, jaggy mess. It'll be just fine, and will even probably wow folks.
