Game play looks pretty nice, and the presentation/atmopshere looks to be improved too.

I loved PES so much a few years I could barely play any other sports games. I hope they give me enough reasons to get back into it after passing on the last few releases. I still personally prefer the control smoothness compared to FIFA, even if FIFA has improved immensely.

taking this from OS, there will be two demos out(one released on the 24th of this month for 360/PS3)

http://winningelevenblog.com/blog/pes-2 ... wednesday/
The first demo will be released on August 24th and will be based on a preview build of the game...

The first PES 2012 demo will not be truly representative of the final game, so KONAMI will issue a second free demo reflecting the final version’s feel and gameplay in mid-September for the same formats

1st demo Teams

Manchester United, AC Milan, FC Porto, S.S.C Napoli, Santos FC, and C.A. Panarol

2nd Demo Teams

Tottenham Hotspur, FC Bayern Munich, FC Internazionale Milano, Rangers FC, Club America and Sport Club Internacional.

I will buy both FIFA and PES this year. The past couple years I have spent the bulk of my time with PES but am intrigued enough with the improvements being touted in both FIFA 12 and PES 12 to give both a go. I've already preordered the two games for the PS3.

Ive bought each of the last two versions and have finally come to my senses.. Until Konami can give us an acceptable online performance I will not buy. I played four seasons of master league in '10, didn't even finish one in '11. I'll admit the game looked great, the lighting was amazing and there were those moments of brilliance. At the end of the day, the unplayable lag online and what the technical gap in general between Fifa and PES has moved be back to being only a Fifa guy again.

After 5 or so matches my thoughts are it plays a great game of footy, the movement on the pitch is a joy to see, attacks come from anywhere and everywhere just as always in pes, still haven't got my head around the controls yet both dribbling or defense.
From this early build(game will have 2 demos ,one in sept closer to final code) the same things are present that drove me away from pes11 and on to fifa.
The passing is still too much on rails the ball just needs to be looser, most evident when you pass it to a forward with his back to goal and closely marked a bad pass goes to the wrong side of your player and should be easily dealt with by the defence but they dont react until the pass reaches the forward resulting in a real awkward looking moments. frustrating .
I turned down pass assist to zero and well it just makes no sense sometimes, some passes just dont go any where even tho the same touch has done enough a 15 times before it :?

It may just be an adjustment thing as im really enjoying the flow in the demo, goalies are bad but i haven't seen anything too bad yet personally.
As i always say the game is so close and if it had Fifas manual passing it would be the best game around. But i dont think it will ever happen it may be an engine limitation.

6 teams in demo 10 min halves.

Edit - forgot to mention the little deflections from players just getting in the way very cool and adds a great realism to the play all over the pitch.

What I liked about the demo is that it made me feel as if I was playing PES 07 or even 09 with the PS2 with the enhanced graphics. There's much fluidity in the way you build up your gameplay and all eleven players in your team seem to be more active instead of just the one player or two that you're controlling. The CPU seems to be smarter also in their ball decision and defending is a bit tricky as you can't just bull over a player. Shooting still feels a bit floaty for me but I really enjoyed the passing around the box. The game pace seems perfect to me as last years' version was a tad too fast for my taste and the dribbling is more responsive. Visually Konami has improved vastly the last couple of years, in fact I prefer the mugs of the players over FIFA's and the presentation is very well done.

A lot of nice added animations, the keepers still seem exaggerated though.

It'll remain to be seen if their on/off online lags improves but I am enjoying the demo so far, especially playing 10 minutes on each half.

I've been too lazy to create a new account and dl the European demo, but have been watching movies of this first version of the demo and am getting pretty stoked for the release of PES 2012. It looks to me like they have made some big improvements to the gameplay. I'm a bit disappointed that the yoyo effect on dribbling is still somewhat present, but otherwise the game looks great. As always, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the control of shooting is good.

So i've given this a look. Sad to say i'm not impressed. Yes, it's an early build and i'll keep that in mind. Maybe i've finally been spoiled by Fifa... A game that simply works, and works well both online and off. I think it's safe to say the technically speaking something is missing from the game. Maybe I keep waiting for Seabass to give us a next gen version of WE:9. Years later and it's still far superior than anything they've done since.

That's what I have never like about the series. Even when I got introduced to the series with Winning Eleven 6 the ball always felt floaty to me. FIFA was just the opposite it felt like you were kicking a deflated ball which was equally as bad.

Finally was able to play the demo. I have to say I am disappointed. The yoyo effect of dribbling is annoying. The ball physics are crap. I liked PES 2011 more than what I'm seeing in this demo. The game just doesn't seem to be much fun for me. I look forward to PES every year and cannot remember the last year I passed on a PES game. This year may be the first if FIFA 12 is good. Konami is really stressing this is a demo and an early build so maybe the final product will be a ton better. I certainly hope so.

Who in the living hell at Konami decided it was a good thing to make people sit through the entire game intro before every load of the demo? I'm trying to play FIFA and PES back and forth and I have to wait a few mins for that f***in lameass intro to play every time I want to play PES. Geesh, at least give people the option to skip over it, or make the video something worth watching.
