IMO, about the only game that ever got walks right was High Heat. Never quite figured that out. Not sure if programmers/developers find "walks" as
a slow down that could cause a lost of interest. I can't imagine that it is that hard to program.

Read the book about a year ago, which was quite good, but have not seen the movie yet. Would like to see it though and compare it to the book.

After many months of waiting I have finally decided to move to the nex-generation is game playing. Another BIG reason is so I can play the new MLB 2k7. I primarily play sports games, but also like shooters, racing, etc.

Question is...what recommendations could anyone give about maybe the top 2-3 ...

I have Puresim 07, and am thinking about getting OOTP, not sure I want to make another purchase for a "like" game.

I'm surre OOTP has its uniqueness but I am on the fence.

Hadn't thought about that Mizzou...good point. My question was primarily geared towards the "video/pc sports games." Did not include text sims, but I should have.

I am a BIG Puresim Fan, and am considering purchasing OOTP this year too.

Slumber, what difficulty do you play on? Do you tweak the sliders or pretty much keep settings on default?

Now that the latest baseball video games have been out 3-4 months, which ones are you still playing? Always curious about the "life" sometimes of the "latest & greatest."

Is it The Show? MVP? Or 2K6?

Any recommendations on what music file sharing source is best? Cleanest? Etc.? Heard some good things about Limewire, etc but am curious as to what everyone's thoughts are?

Been following this thread for a while and it sounds like this is a pretty good game and a good representation of the sport. Was it released to the EB's and Gamestop's? I noticed a week ago at a local Kohl's and did not get it, now I wish I would have.

As a BU grad its great to see two valley teams in the sweet 16. And lets face it when you are a #7 seed (WSU) and a #13 (BU) you are gonna have to beat the big boys to get there.

Strat baseball is fairly solid, but I would have to agree with PadresFan about OOTP and Puresim. I just last weekend downloaded the Puresim game and am loving it. Have never tried Diamond Mind, seems a little pricey.

I would give the nod to Puresim, IMO.

Anyone know of a good, text based, football sim cut from the cloth of something like - Out of the Park Baseball? I'm more into the day to day, set lineups, call plays, review boxes, make substitutions, etc - than getting into the GM stuff. If that is in the package its okay, but I am more into the ...

I have always felt that from a simulation standpoint, nothing rivaled the "High Heat" series. I am getting to the point where I think MVP is creeping ever so close, and closing the gap.

Been playing lots of MVP and would agree with most that this game is definately the "class" of this years baseball crop. Anyway, I play primarily on PRO and get a good variety of games, but it seems as though I hit a little too good.

Getting 2 runs on 13 hits, 6 runs on 17 hits...stuff like that ...

Only live about an hour from Decatur. Always been an Illini fan even though I am a Bradley alum. This has been a magical couple of months for Illinois. They are the consumate team. I think 89's team may have more talent..but these guys play such a team game I think they would beat the 89 ...

Hey guys...most of what I hear about this game is issues with the Career and Franchise modes. Any problems with the "basic season" mode? Its what I play mostly.

I think State will give Kentucky a game and I would not be surprised if they beat the Cats. As for the Badgers...anything can happen, but it will take a "perfect" game from them to beat UNC.

FGator..."Illinois, Wisconsin & MState got lucky?" I may...MAY give you Wisconsin...but Illinois and MState are top tier teams. MState has underachieved most of the year and as a BIG Illini fan I will tell you they scare me more than anyone for Illini to match up with in the final.
