with my bad drive i tried to do the windows recovery thing as well and i couldnt even get the command DIR to list anything on the drive. external enclosure didnt work either, havent tried actually putting it in the PC as a secondary drive.

luckily for me all i lost was some favorites and game saves.

yesterday i bought my christmas tree wearing shorts, t-shirt and sandles.

going to second the NEC DVD burner recommendation. have a 4x single layer burner that has performed flawlessly. i have the bios upgrade to make it a dual layer burner, but like someone else mentioned the media is steep so no point yet.
