Man, I hope so. Whether it is the Rays or the Sox its gonna be a helluva task. I am gonna enjoy the ride!FatPitcher wrote:Good to see top teams making it to the world series this year instead of lucky ones. I think the NL might stand a chance this time.

Watching the Red Sox is like watching one of those cheesy horror movies, just when you think the beast is dead...
I'm thinking that now it seems almost too chliche that Boston will come back to win the series. Meaning...the Rays will pull out a squeaker in Game 6.
Hell of a game last night though. I actually think I could have thrown out the tying run at the plate though. Gabe Gross botched that one!

What's worse is that I see many young kids wearing Boston hats here in upstate N.Y.dbdynsty25 wrote:Hell of a game tonight. Thankfully I will stop seeing Boston hats all day long in goddamn Los Angeles.
That's a clear sign of lack of parental responsibility, because no father born and raised in New York state would let his kid wear a Red Sox hat.

Take care,

I find it funny that 4 out of 5 of ESPN's "experts" are picking the Rays to win the World Series...including Jim Caple predicting a Rays sweep
That is just absurd. I need to see his credentials. I love the fact that the Phils are getting little respect.
BTW, Peter Gammons picks the good guys in 7.

I would be stunned if the Phillies get swept. It's nearly impossible for me to imagine that they wouldn't win a single game.Diablo25 wrote:I find it funny that 4 out of 5 of ESPN's "experts" are picking the Rays to win the World Series...including Jim Caple predicting a Rays sweepThat is just absurd. I can accept the Rays as favorites, but given the difficulties the Rays had closing out the Red Sox and the palpable nervousness in their building, I almost think it's equally likely that the Rays may utterly collapse in the World Series.

My point exactly. The Rays could definitely win the series but I just can't comprehend a sweep. Both are solid teams with good pitching staffs. I feel the Rays have a slight edge with their rotation but the Phillies pen is phenomenal. Offensively both teams are very good. Phils have a weird combination of team speed AND power. Plus they are a superb defensive team (outside of the debacle we call Ryan Howard). I take the Phils in 7.Naples39 wrote: I would be stunned if the Phillies get swept. I still can't get over David Price....gutsiest piece of coaching I've seen maybe ever. Although I have been following his career closely and am pretty confident he'll be dominant very soon, I was still surprised he was given the ball last night in the ninth (especially against the righties).
I would be happy to see either team take the WS at this point. Love what both teams have shown us thus far and both are deserving (the Phillies fans moreso than the Rays fans obviously). I'm picking the Rays in 7.

He got a few Glavine calls last night.dbdynsty25 wrote:Yeah, Price was definitely nails last night. I guess the hype was warranted. He looks legit. Very cool.

I was hoping going to the ninth that Maddon would leave him in. What a great game that was.
I am really looking forward to the Series. Two likable teams with some damn good players.
Hope it goes seven. If I was a betting man, I would take the Phils.
