NHL 2K10....EPIC FAIL!

Post by tjung0831 »

Taken from the 2Khockey forums...

"The team has been hard at work rebuilding the NHL 2K franchise from the ground up. Because we’ve poured every resource we have into this game, we made a strategic decision not to release a demo. But we do want to give you a chance to try the game before it officially hits store shelves"

Wow...just wow.

Who cares?

If the game is good in two weeks, I'm not going to avoid it because they didn't let me play a dumbed-down, no-slider, three-minute version with Pitt and Det.

Ya, but the last time 2k pulled a "no demo before release" card that I can recall was MLB2k7..... which stunk before a patch.

So, I can see why eyebrows are raised.

Kind of stupid to say a game is an epic fail because it doesn't have a demo. The hands-on reviews have been very positive thus far. It's not like 2K is known for its PR savvy anyway.

This whole thread is an epic fail...even for the short attention spanned Tjung.

They made a lot of progress from 2k8 to 2k9 and everything shown so far looks like they've made more progress. I'm sure the budget for a 2k hockey game is probably pretty small compared to that of EA's NHL game so if they don't want to spend resources on a demo and would rather dedicate that to the final product I'm okay with that. It sucks we won't get a demo but I don't think that means it will be an epic fail because of that. This is a different economy than it was in 2006 so not putting out a demo for a small budget game shouldn't necessarily raise red flags IMO.

Video of one period up on 2khockey.net.

Looks good, but pinpoint passing and one handed stick handling make me cringe......
