Actually, this curse will continue as long as Charlie Weis insists on using the five-receiver set as his base offense. The Patriots ran the ball only four times until midway through the third quarter yesterday.Parker wrote:This new curse will last as long as Dillon, Ty Law, and half our receivers are injured.
Now, I know that switch was made becuase Dillon was hurt, but almost any defensive coordinator with solid player personnel can draw up a defense to stop a pass-only offense.
Sure, Dillon is a stud. But Kevin Faulk isn't a stiff. I was pretty surprised that Weis used pretty much a pass-only offense from the start of the game. The Steelers' defense ate it alive.
Out,

True, but it should be noted that the Steelers played without:Parker wrote:This new curse will last as long as Dillon, Ty Law, and half our receivers are injured.
- Casey Hampton, NT (arguably the best in the NFL)
- Kendrell Bell, starting ILB (defensive Rookie of the Year in 2001)
- RG Kendall Simmons (out for year)
- Starting CB Chad Scott
- Nickelback Mike Logan
- QB Maddox (he *was* the starter at the beginning of the season)
You can't attack the Steelers with 5 WR anymore. They have added a lot of speed to the secondary since 2001 and 2002.
How could you even dare to mention Maddox... Roethlisberger has been an upgrade of epic proportions, people are bringing up "best rookie since Marino" comments about the guy. Bringing him up is worse than a Pat fan saying, "We extended the steak to 21 games this year, despite playing without last seasons starting RB"
Wow. Sorry, I'll take it back and just say...The Steelers kicked the ever living piss out of NE despite having a rookie QB and all those injuries (not counting the backup QB Maddox).skidmark wrote:How could you even dare to mention Maddox... How often has a rookie QB lead his team to the Super Bowl and then went on to win it? Does anyone know? Brady was a rookie I believe, or at least in his first year starting...how many others have won the Super Bowl.
BTW, I know Marino went but couldn't finish so don't bother blasting us Dolphin fans.

True, true. Anyone who thinks the Patriots lost because of Dillon, Law and the receivers' absence is kidding themselves. The Steelers dominated the Pats yesterday in every aspect.Leebo33 wrote:True, but it should be noted that the Steelers played without:Parker wrote:This new curse will last as long as Dillon, Ty Law, and half our receivers are injured.

Wouldn't be surprised to see these two teams meet again in January in a cold, snowy Pittsburgh or Foxboro.
Take care,

Well I always knew Parker/Resin/yada yada was a joke, just not to himself.True, true. Anyone who thinks the Patriots lost because of Dillon, Law and the receivers' absence is kidding themselves.
