Yep, and that's why we lost. It had nothing to do with Keith Jackson, Hollaway, or Bosworth making about 25 tackles...

>>>It wouldn't look like I was completely giving up if I still had my Red Sox avatar, obviously.<<<

But you did change your avatar to the Patriots and did give up until the bandwagon came rolling by with an empty spot on it for you after Game 4.

You can alibi all you want about your silly bet at redsox.com, but you gave up on "your" Bosox after Game 3. With fans like that, what else could the Red Sox need?

Take care,

If only there was a way for both teams to lose tonight.

To get the topic back on the game for a second.....

Looks like Brown will be starting tonight. I was worried, but considering that El Duque will be working on only two days rest, it's the right decision. Brown has been clutch in the past and does well at Yankee Stadium. It's just a matter of whether the old Brown shows up or if the current hand destroying Brown shows up. A whole season coming down to Kevin Brown.

Now, where is the fun in that. :D

Seriously though, 52 degrees at game time may not be good for a guy with a bad back. Though I guess it is at least better than last night.

Brown used to throw real hard, in the mid 90s.

He also had a nasty sinker which was at least in the high 80s.

Looks like he doesn't have those pitches after the injuries he had with the Dodgers.

Interesting that they won't go with Vasquez, who got a big contract.

Now who is Boston pitching, Lowe or maybe Wakeman?

Not exactly handing the ball to someone like Clemens for either team.

I love games like this, when there's no tomorrow and the manager's asked about who he's pitching, and he responds with those two magical words: "Everybody's available." :)

Well I have to credit Miami for our title that year. They knocked Troy Aikman out for the season early that year bringing in Hollaway. Then they were kind enough to lose in the Sugar Bowl which made us #1.

As obnoxious as Parker is, i wouldn't call him a fair weather fan. Just about every hard core fan i know bitches and complains about their favorite team if they show any sign of weakness. It's just what fans do. I'm an L.A. Kings fan and i am often super negative about the team. It's just what you learn to expect when you are a fan of a team that rarely if ever wins. You KNOW they will choke, screw it up, fold, or whatever.

But that doesn't mean i have EVER given up on them. and when i say "They are just gonna lose, i hate these guys, i give up" it doesn't mean i REALLY give up. For example, the last two years the Kings have had a ton of injuries to just about every good player on the team. Each time a good player would go down, i would say they are done for. When Ziggy went down last year i thought the season had just ended. But the fact is i keep watching, i keep rooting and deep down i never really give up. even when they are mathematically eliminated i watch the remaining games, as painful as it may be.

I'm a die hard fan. I have a Kings tattoo for crying out loud. Just because I sometimes b*tch about my team or write them off when they are down 3-0 in a series doesn't mean i'm a fair weather fan and it shouldn't mean that Parker is either. Of course he's still a message board troll and really obnoxious, but that's besides the point.

OH, and one more thing for Parker. Red Sox fans aren't the fans who have suffered in sports. At least the Red Sox have a handfull of championships and have at least been to the world series fairly recently. The Cubs haven't even been there since 1945. They hadn't even won a playoff series since 45 until last year. And it's not like you've been alive since 1918. I've been a Kings fan for most of my life and they have NEVER won the Stanley Cup. I know what it's like to suffer and so do many many others. I can't even say my team won it before i was born.

Do Little and Francona have some kind of bet going for who can make the worse big game decision involving Pedro?

LAKing, you are definitely right about a couple things.

I'm sometimes ridiculously negative about my teams. It happens, but I don't go anywhere near Parker's song and dance.

The Red Sox losing "curse" is freaking annoying. Did you know that Indianapolis has an ABA curse? The professional teams haven't won a title since that league went under. What about the White Sox? What have they done since they tossed the World Series? Curse of Shoeless Joe?

The media has driven this baby into the ground and I know me and my friends are tired of it. But the #'s don't lie, a lot of America is eating it up.

How stupid are the Yankee fans...they are down 8-3 and they are still chanting away.

Looks like the Sox are the Yankees daddy to me.

Are the Red Sox trying to lose? Bringing in Pedro has got to be the worst managing decision ever. It cost them two runs and if anything it's a waste of his arm for the world series. Why take out a pitcher who's only made 69 pitches in 6 innings and given one hit? F'ing STUPID!

If Pedro closes this game out...Francona is a genius. If he blows it, it's criticized but at least he went out with his best pitcher on the mound. I'm sure that's what he's thinking. Not saying it's right, but he's gotta be doing damage control assume they choke.

Exactly. The Red Sox and to a lesser degree the cubs are just trendy right now. People like rooting for the lovable losers. I know I do, but i don't believe in curses and i know that these aren't the only teams/fans that suffer on a yearly basis.

A genius? He didn't have to bring him in. Lowe had been awesome every inning. Plus he had plenty of other starters to go to before Pedro. With a 7 run lead what's the rush? You're not a genius for panicking, even if they do hold on to the win. The Red Sox will most likely win this game, with or without Pedro. The bad part is that you are making him work harder than he has to and giving the crowd something to chant about. It's just a dumb move, plain and simple.

Best thing about tonight's game, the Bos/NY hype and the countless shots of RedSox fans about to puke will end.

These shots of tortured Yankee fans are such a nice change of pace from the corresponding shots from Boston. These people look like their conception of reality is crumbling down around them.

I don't think there is such a thing as a 'tortured Yankee Fan'. Well maybe not until tonight.

It wasn't a bad move tactically, but geez, can you put a worse pitcher in as far as getting the crowd in the game. I know what Terry was thinking... he wanted Timlin in the eighth, Foulke in the ninth. Pedro for an inning is just as good as Arroyo, Embree or any of the other gas cans out there. As far as Lowe, let's not forget he is pitching on short rest and when the end comes for him, it comes in a hurry. I think anywhere but the Stadium it's an OK move, but tonight they should have just let Pedro sit. Not to mention needing him on Saturday (should they advance).

Suck it, Mayor Bloomberg!

At least the crowd can drown their sorrows in some smokeless NYC bar, thanks to him.
