Rain is predicted for tomorrow, so that might give all of the pitchers a rest.seanmac31 wrote: It's hard to know what the hell to expect for the next two games, as both pitching staffs are completely fried. With Rivera and Foulke both having pitched multiple innings on back to back games, they are both effectively gone for tomorrow night. They could maybe come in for a batter, possibly two, but that's about it. Both teams are in a position where they need their starters to give them a minimum of seven innings. Right now you'd have to say Lieber is more likely to be able to do it than an injured Schilling.
And if we ever get to a game seven, you are talking about the weirdest collection of scrubby pitchers imaginable.
As for Parker, I'll ask again: What happened to the Patriots avatar?
Two great games tonight and with a new episode of American Chopper I was flipping the channels like a madman.
If Cowboy fans can jump in and out of their bandwagon depending on the year, then the Red Sox fans should be extended the same courtesy.
One last question, if you give up on your team like Parker, Sports Guy Simmons, Bob Ryan, are you allowed to jump right back on the bandwagon or are you suspended for a week until you can be a fan again?

Today/tonight was a rarity: A baseball game that thoroughly entertained me. The Red Sox-Yanks' game, that is.
Still, there's no reason that game needed to take nearly six hours. A whole f*ck of a lot of standing around over nothing. I'm so sick of batters calling time after every other pitch and baserunners calling time every single time they slide into a base in baseball.
The game needs to be sped up, big time. As proof, the Mets-Astros' 16-inning game still remains the longest postseason game in terms of innings, but tonight's 14-inning job was the longest in terms of time.
The sequence between Gordon and Roberts was ridiculous. Gordon, you know Roberts is going to run, so just pitch the f*cking ball. I finally screamed at the screen, "F*CKING PITCH IT!"
Baseball purists call that cat-and-mouse strategy. I call it a pitcher who let a baserunner penetrate his grill like an iron spear because he dicked around too much on the rubber instead of pitching the ball. Just throw the ball, let the f*cker run and trust your catcher to throw him out. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the constant motion of soccer, but baseball games NEVER lasted this long when I loved the sport as a kid.
Still, a very entertaining baseball game, on the whole.
Out,
PK

lol seriously, what is up with boston fans ? they all either look freezing cold or on the verge of puking... they kept showing people who had their hands over their mouths/faces and i don't get it.. i thought boston fans were so confident about their choke sox, but they seem to be almost in fear to watch what is happening, it's very odd
one question i got for my boy parker is, why do you refer to the red sox as "we" or "us"... if you're not on the team, there is no you about it there guy, i am sorry to burst your bubble but until superfans like yourself get a paycheck, it's not "your" team
sorry just a thing that bothers the s*** out of me
anyways go choke sox haha

i get the distinct feeling were headed towards game 7 you just know schilling will bring it injury withstanding with everything he can possibly musterSlumberland wrote:That was really fun to watch. I'm excited to see what Schilling has. Great drama.
something about that guy..
on the other side of the coin this all could be just setting up the bosox fans for the greatest comeback ever that they couldnt pull off due to some yankee walk off homer in the bottom of the 11th in game 7
on the other side of the coin go stros !!! never much liked tony larussa
these have been some great playoff series all around personally i have enjoyed every moment of the cat n mouse games i have hardly watched anything else the past couple weeks
its all about the details

Nope, not at all. Ortiz is having a good series no doubt. But I still would take Beltran.Parker wrote:"Again......Beltran. If he was with the Red Sox,you would want to have his midget."
I assume you will be changing your mind now. Beltran stinks tonight and Ortiz now has 3 game winning hits in this postseason. Nothing compares to that in the least.
He stunk last night? 1 for 4, SB and a run scored against much better pitching. Not a bad night IMO.
I couldn't agree more and if the games were only 2 1/2 hours long then I wouldn't mind the 8:20/8:40 starts.pk500 wrote:Still, there's no reason that game needed to take nearly six hours. I get mad when I watch a game on ESPN Classic. They showed the 1978 one game playoff and I was amazed at how quickly Goose Gossage worked.
I feel bad for you East Coasters when it comes to prime time sports. The start times are horrible--I don't know how they expect to get kids interested in the sport when they might be able to watch the first third of it. Obviously, last night's game didn't have that problem because of the early start, but I'm sure tonight's games will start late.
And MNF? A 9 PM start...

Ya ya ya, that base hit was after I posted. But still, that hardly compares to 3 game winning hits. The first player ever to have 2 game winning homeruns in the same postseason, and the first player to ever have game winning hits in back to back games. Beltran may be having a good series, but that's hard to compete with. Just because he is hitting well, doesn't mean he would be as good as Ortiz when he has the chance to win a game.JackDog wrote:Nope, not at all. Ortiz is having a good series no doubt. True but a friend of mine probably had the best senario. He wants the Red Sox to beat the Yankees and then face the Astros in the World Series. You can of course see where I am going with this. Roger pitching at Fenway leading the Astros to the Championship.
You would then have a mass suicide of such proportion that it would make Jonestown look like a Boy Scout meeting.

Arod is a worthless, cheating, piece of overpaid crap.
In any case, Schilling is God, and we are the first team ever to come back from 3-0 to force a game 7. However, we will not stop there. We will win game 7 and conquer the Evil Empire.
Schilling made 55,000 obnoxious thug fans shut up.
