Um, the future? We don't take him seriously NOW. He's got 27 pages worth of 'predictions' that were made with facts, allegedly. That's not speaking with your heart...that's being led astray by facts and stats that are thrown out the window once the playoffs start. He's a ridiculous joke. He was last year at this time and he came back for more this season. We're gonna start calling him Jenna Jamison...cuz dude's has been taking it every damn year.
I was merely making an example. I don't have the irrational hate that most of you have for Parker, so I didn't really consider the past. I was speaking in general terms, as in generally one's credibility will take a hit when they make erroneous predictions.

>>>Which is worse, Parker and his ridiculous predictions, or the million and one Yankee fans piling on him who didn't have the balls to make their own prediction? I think I still need more time to think...<<<

I've made it pretty clear that I'm not a big baseball fan, Mr. Morality, but it's too tempting to rib Parker after his brash predictions.

Jesus, Kaz, I don't think anyone in here hates Parker. He hasn't been a dick since he came here. He's made a few predictions and statements that make us chuckle and cause us to roll our eyes, but who among us hasn't? I know I'm an arrogant dick in here at times.

It's all in good fun, at least for me. Find another crusade to launch.

Take care,

Kaz always posts from up on his high horse; it's his modus operandi here.

Anyway, it seems he's misunderstanding the situation. Had Parker simply made a predcition and blown it, I doubt you'd be seeing this response. Insetad he predicted, revised, called the Yankee pitching staff bums, cited the Sox as Obviously the best team, demanded respect for Brigand Ambrosia, tried to spin the payroll situation six ways to Sunday, called the Yanks a laughingstock, etc. You do that, you need to expect to get called on it.

Now as a Yankee fan, I personally thought it would be a close series to go either way. But I guess you were expecting similar ridiculous 'we'll win it in three' sentiments from me as well? That's not 'baseball knowledge', that's blowhard braggadocio...sorry if Yankee fans disappointed you there.

The Yankees simply put the redsox in line, Kaz, the way same way you brag about treating your women.

Kaz, I'll dish out no s*** to anyone who can admit they're leading with their heart and not their head when it comes to predictions. Hell, in the predictions thread, I have the Twins winning it all. Why? I'm a fan and can admit that my prediction had more to do with what I wanted to happen vs. what facts/stats will tell me.

Parker, despite his team's futility against the Sox and the fact that the Yankees won the division, acted like all stats and facts were on the side of a Sox domination.

It would be like me talking about how the Colts are going to OWN the Pats if they play again in the playoffs this year. However, I will probably predict them to win, but definitely understand why people would think I'm an idiot for it.

I'm back. Lay it on me, I deserve it. But if I can take it, I should be able to dish it out. I know not all of you want the Yanks to win, and I also know there are plenty of fans of other teams that sound as confident as I do and make the same type of predictions.

Disagree about the Colts though. The reason they can't beat the Patriots is their defense stinks, not some curse we put on them. In football, defense wins championships, whether it's holding teams to low point totals or yards. And in baseball, pitching wins championships, which makes it hard to believe the Red Sox, finishing 3rd in the AL, would have struggled this much.

I can't believe the Yanks are very confident in their pitching however. You can't expect Lieber to carry you and Brown and Vasquez are truly awful. Your only hope is if El Duque can come back strong. Arroyo had a bad outing, but his paycheck is peanuts compared to Brown and Vasquez, he still deserves recognition. But this was not the same Yankee team we played in the regular season. Next year, do us all a favor, and have your all-star packed lineup put up great numbers before the postseason.

Parker:

Oh ye of little faith: Changing your avatar already? :)

The Pats-Jets game is a monster next week. It's the first game between unbeaten teams at Week Seven or later in an NFL season since the 1970s. Can't remember the exact year Jim Nantz gave.

Should be a damn good game, but I'm picking the Pats by seven. The Pats are looking all-galaxy right now.

I would like to enter into evidence exhibit # 1,534-A

But this was not the same Yankee team we played in the regular season. Next year, do us all a favor, and have your all-star packed lineup put up great numbers before the postseason.

I guess I am missing something? Did the Yankees put up enough #'s to win their division this year? Exactly, so many sour grapes you could start a wHinery...

As for all the "Yankee fans" I doubt that the majority of us were but you knew that all along sitting atop your high horse with a perfect view. I know I will be rooting for the Astros or the Cardinals in the WS. Not since the release of NCAA 2005 for the Xbox will you see a greater desertion at DSP when the Series hits.

Now it is time to Parker to hex his beloved Partiots since he can do no more damage to his Boston Red Sox or Boston College Eagles.

Jets 24 Pats 21 The streak ends next week on their own home field.

LOL... all I see is a bunch of s***-talking by people who don't have a license. I'm not terribly impressed by people who wait untill the series is 3-0 to start with the "told you so's". If you are on record saying that the Yankees were going to crush the Red Sox before the series began, then by all means tear into Parker's ass... he deserves it. Otherwise, spare us your bravery.

Webdanzer, I am still working on decoding your post. I'll get back to you if I ever figure it out. I assume you think I'm some kind of woman beater or misgogynist, which is mystifying, but perhaps I have posted some rap lyrics somewhere and you thought they were my own words. I'll do a search and see what I come up with.

I don't think that's particularly fair. I don't recall any Yankees fans starting up a "The Yankees are going to win the World Series" threads. We were willing to simply watch the series without getting into anyone's face. But Parker-not to mention all of the media in the greater Boston area-insisted on talking junk incessantly before the series started. If Boston fans had just shut up and hoped for the best, I don't think they'd be taking this kind of grief now. But they-and the Boston Globe, and the Boston Herald, and the Sports Guy and everyone else were busy waxing rhapsodic about sweeps and how they wanted the Yankees so that their World Series win could be properly enjoyed, on and on and on and on.

Hence the many anti-Red Sox threads.

LOL ... all I see is a bunch of sh*t-talking morality from the almighty Kaz pulpit. Parker went way past simply predicting the series. He gave all sorts of reasons, real and imagined, why he thought the Red Sox would demolish the Yanks and why anyone who didn't agree with him was an idiot.

It was the DSP equivalent of bulletin-board material in a locker room. And now that the Sox are getting smoked, he's getting called on it, in good fun.

Shame you can't see that. I'm not terribly impressed by people who can't see we're just having fun. Even Parker has admitted that he can take it, so he really doesn't need the DSP version of Clara Barton to be his personal Red Cross.

But there is a place for Kaz's moral piety and perfection -- he should run for president of the U.S. He's always on the moral high ground, never wrong and looks out for the downtrodden. So for those sick of Kerry and Bush, let's start a write-in campaign for Kaz!

And if that doesn't work, Rome probably will need to elect a new Pope within the next five to 10 years.

Kaz, Parker's not that bent by our teasing, so why should you be? Kaz, you're the true Lady Liberty of DSP -- give Kaz the downtrodden, tired and wretched souls of DSP, and he will provide a safe home and shine a beacon of truth for all of them.

:)

Take care,
PK

LOL... what do you think the chances are of a bench clearing brawl happing in the inevitable yankees win in game 4 ? this series has been pretty calm so far but yankees/red sox standards... i wouldnt mind seeing a nice brawl but hey thats me

I'm not going to talk a bunch of crap about Parker's Gene Shallit-esque baseball predictions. His team had a good year, his football team is unstoppable, and while the Celtics may not be very good they will be light years ahead of the HorriBulls. I just got back watching the Bears lose 13-10 to the freakin' awful Redskins. In the words of Bill Simmons, I just threw up in my mouth. So I'm not talking smack to anyone today.

This is all in good fun, from Parker's ridiculous arrogance about the Sox to our ridiculous prison shower pasting of his predictions. It's an Internet message board. We all let our ids run wild here.

With that said, rap music f------ sucks.

Then why not call him on those reasons? I don't see anybody saying "Hey, Mussina isn't a bum pitcher, is he?" All I see is people gloating on the outcome of the series as if they knew it all along. Which they didn't.

Your morality argument must be pretty funny to you, at least I'm hoping you're getting something out of it because it makes no sense. I already said Parker deserves plenty of razzing, just not from people who were too afraid to make a prediction before the series started.

But there's safety in numbers, one person sees a bunch of people piling on Parker and figures that everybody is cool with it and they won't be called on it. Sorry, you've been called.
