more and more people mad at the updates from 2K. They're saying the game was great before today and now everything is ruined.
I'll wait for more of your impressions post patch to decide if I want to pick this up or not.
I lost my cool over it at first because I thought all my attributes had been lost. I played our DSP tournament round at Kennebunk with a beginning level player. I didn't realize at that time that my attributes I'd earned were all still there there in the "My Player" bank, waiting for me to reapply them. I read that after I finished the round, that the update had simply taken all those "additional" attribute points I'd earned and applied, and put them back in my attribute bank.
I was fine after I realized they were all there and I just had to reapply them. It gave me a chance to reapply them in a way that was more to my liking anyway, now that I'd played the game for a while and gotten a better idea of where they could be used.
I thought the game was a little too generous in the way it handed out attribute points and VC early on anyway. I think it's where it should be now. I don't know why they couldn't realize that earlier. I'm still very much enjoying the game as it is.... in fact I can say that it's my favorite golf game of all time already. There is so much depth to the swing interface and the the game's physics, not to mention the best presentation production I've ever seen. It exceeded my expectations by a long shot!
There's an aspect to the short game that I can't quite come to terms with, most specifically, the chipping game. I was already having trouble chili dipping chip shots before the latest update, but now with the update, the rhythm and contact is very unforgiving on chip shots. I chili dipped two chip shots in a row from three feet off the green in yesterday's DSP tournament round, and went from second to last with the triple bogey I wound up with there as a result. I then spent 15 minutes at the practice area playing chip shots from heavy rough. I finally started to get a feel for what is required to hit a delicate chip shot now, but I by no means have it mastered. I think it will wind up being an element of the game that I will eventually come to accept as a reasonable challenge.
