Played one round of TGC2 and I am seeing a night and day difference compared to play on the standard X1.J_Cauthen wrote:For the second week in a row, we didn't have a finisher in the PC Society. This course was pretty meh, but it also doesn't seem like it's really a tournament when only 1 to 3 people are playing. I've decided to fold the tent on the PC Society and dedicate my DSP Society efforts into playing the XBox One version, where we at least seem to average a half dozen, or more, a week. I see Tim's decided to go that direction and I think it would be healthier to have one, better-attended DSP Society, than fragment two or three players away every week for one that couldn't even muster a foursome.
BTW, it's good to read two more accounts of the XBox One version at least playing smoother on the X. Can any of you confirm any improvement in the textures within 25' of the ball by virtue of the forced 16X AF the X affords? Furthermore, do you see any evidence of the X's supersampling in this game?
Textures are much clearer and cleaner. No swing lag at all with either full swing or putting stroke. Hitches in the game cameras almost imperceptible. Plays like it does on my PC but looks better than the standard Xbox on my screen. Tree shadows no longer look like blobs on the greens, etc...
While I agree with Scott that TGC2 needs a great deal of optimization and polish, I’m feeling good about the current performance on the X.
