Different machines, that's correct. She's got her own XBox One, but I didn't see any option for split screen when creating it.

Yeah I just saw a review on how the multiplayer is great too bad their is no split screen. Was coming back to answer my own question.

Played some more War Zone last night and really enjoyed it. I have leveled up a bit and have a little clue on the maps so I held my own for once.

I've been waiting on buying this to see what the response would be here. While I know Poker nights of the past are gone I was hoping to see some online interest.

Is this worth getting if you don't have a regular group to run with? The Giant Bomb feedback made it seem like team work is really important this time out.

I decided to pass on the game, and hope to play a rental sometime in the near future. Single player is really all that interests me, and I'll get better value out of Tomb Raider. I'm thinking of checking out Fallout 4, which I understand is a massive game that will suck much of my video game time.

I have read too many complaints from novices like me on OS that they're getting frustrated with online in Halo 5. I go online to have fun and be somewhat competitive, not to get killed umpteen times per match. Damn, I'm getting old.

Not worth it. Sad to say, there is nothing happening here at DSP as far as online shooters go.

I actually think the MP has been the best in a long time. Read this...

I'm having some fun with it. Breakout is good, with no respawns I only die once each round. :D

I prefer at least having one other person to party up with for multiplayer. My buddy started a clan with the lamest name ever: Halo5killers. Feel free to join us.

Finished this last night.

The story/narrative was amazing.

And by amazing, I mean,

F UCKING CRAP

Tbf, not as bad as Halo 4's insider-baseball story ('Oh it totally makes sense if you read all the terminals and all 17 extended universe novels!') but still really bad. I don't expect shooters to have the Witcher level of storytelling but still....

What they did to Cortana was just dumb.

EDIT: Also while some of the bigger levels were fantastic, really didn't appreciate having the fight the same boss what felt like 14 different times through the course of the game.

I've been playing a ton of MP lately, which is weird, because Halo is almost always 90% solo campaign play for me. The campaign here is great in all the ways Halo is great if you like Halo. Don't care about the story beyond the reason to head to the next location to shoot aliens in well designed levels that feel puzzle like to sort through.

For some reason, probably playing a lot of SWBF on early access and recent discussion of titanfall, I've been in the mood for MP. This feels like the super sweet spot for online MP for me. Great modes, including a Titanfall like mode with AI thrown in to add to the carnage. But mostly, it just feels like where Quake was always headed. And after playing SWBF, it was nice to jump into a shooter that feels more nimble and quick, with some pretty awesome levels.

Someone on my friends list messaged me yesterday that he is getting a group together for custom mp games on Wednesday nights starting at 9et. So I'm extending the invite here to any Halo 5 players.

That was some trippy s*** last night. Wow. That map was bizarre. I played a round of regular old Team Arena afterwards and I was a sharpshooter compared to the performance on that drug inspired confusion we played on :) Still fun.

You missed the Ground Pound arena, the Ice Cream truck game and the Mario themed map. The user created maps are a fun diversion. We played a few regular Warzone matches too. The plan is to make this a regular Wednesday night thing.

We are up to 8 players now on Wednesday nights. It's great getting back to some private multiplayer gaming.

Also, while it is free to play, it is also on sale for 50% off. It's a really fantastic shooter, and 343 has been generous with their support and free DLC.

It's easily my favorite Halo game, and it just has a fantastic feel to the flow of its play. If you are skeptical, this is a good time to check out the game.

The new game mode Warzone Firefight is very fun. Played it for a good bit last night and had a blast. It's similar to the Titanfall mode where you must outlast waves of enemy. There are 5 waves to beat and you progressively get better reqs. I actually got to level 9 reqs last night. I'd NEVER seen those levels in any other mode. Good stuff.
