Yeah, I'm in. I thought the MP Beta felt fantastic, and I have enjoyed all of the single player campaigns.

The broken-ass Master Chief Collection and the ridiculous narrative in Halo 4 (it was so bad it probably would have confused Hideo Kojima) have really killed any excitement for this one.

I will end up getting it because it's Halo but I'm not nearly as excited as I have been for other games in the series.

343i have done a crappy job IMO since taking over from Bungie.

I'm on the fence with this game. I've played bits and pieces of the original as well as Halo 2, but that's about it. I did find them enjoyable, but just never had that desire I guess to complete them. I can always go back and pick up the MCC after playing this game, so that's a bonus. The single player campaign sounds pretty weak, but then again it's never been the game's strong suit. I'm pretty confident I'll get my butt handed to me in multi-player, so is it really worth my frustration?

As a Xbox One owner, it seems wrong not to own this title....

I have the same attitude toward Halo that I do toward the "Star Wars" movie franchise: Played/saw the first one, enjoyed it, never understood the hype surrounding it and never was moved to play/see any of its sequels.

I'm excited for it mainly because of War Zone. I'm not a huge fan of Arena but the large maps and the slower pace of big maps is a draw for me. I’ve been getting back into BF4 of late and we all know how great Conquest is :). I'll play the campaign but probably won't finish it...as usual.

The fall usually gets me giddy for 'new game' season. This is the first of a number of premier titles coming out. Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fallout 4 and Star Wars BF are all on the way. Not sure which of those ill be getting. I'll most likely be getting SWBF and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I may be most pumped to get my greasy mitts on the Elite controller tomorrow :)

I guess the legacy that it's the game that brought FPS's to the console. It has always had a great matchmaking system too.

The live Halo 5 launch show is on YouTube right now. Goes until the midnight launch. Gameplay interviews, etc.

There is also a link to it on the XB1 dashboard under the "Halo 5: Guardians" tab.

Played WarZone for about two hours and it's fun. It has a fast pace but nowhere near as fast as Arena. The Req system is pretty cool. Upgrading your skills and weapons during the game is similar to Titan Fall's cards. The more kills/objectives you achieve the more stuff opens up. Smooth 60 FPS. More tomorrow night :D

Halo 5 $39.99 at Newegg, with coupon code. Your mileage may vary.

It won't take long for this game to hit $30 price point with all the unused digital codes. I got the Halo Collection for $20, a monh after it was released.

I disagree with that (unless you are talking about people selling their codes from console bundles on EBAY). Don't get me wrong, it will come down eventually but Halo: The Mater Chief Collection was an overhaul of EXISTING Halo games. Plus the online component was broke from the start...nudging it into the 'bargain bin' prematurely. I don't see Halo 5, an all new premium flagship release, dropping anytime soon. I am sure it will get some Black Friday love though.

Consider yourself lucky. I got the game yesterday morning. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to play it until midnight I decided to install this beastly 60GB of a game in the afternoon. As of 22:00 last night it was still showing 36% after 6 hours and this morning after leaving my Xbox on the whole night, was still showing 82%.

I guess I am not the only one with this screw up.

And I agree, this game will not get to the $30 mark sale for at least another year. So if you can get the Newegg deal, it's a great price.

Well, the game was already preinstalled on my console for about a week because of the preorder so the final install took less than a minute. I guess I did get lucky. I am anxious to get home from work and play it so that is a good sign.

Everyone purchasing on the same day trying to download and install on crappy console infrastructure.

Not sure why this is a surprise to anyone.

The Polygon article comes off like a 12 year old kid bitching up a storm but since Polygon has gone to s*** in the last year, not surprising.

Can anyone comment on the co-op campaign and how it works?

I played one co-op mission with my wife last night, but that was it. You start a session and can easily invite friends with the Y button, they hop in and everybody picks one of the four team members. The mission starts and you play through it, without much interaction during cut scenes and whatnot. Then the next mission loads and you pick your character again.

It's pretty straightforward, but we had some fun when one of us screwed up and had to resurrect the other one--I haven't played Halo in a while, but I died FAST last night. If I wasn't paying attention, I didn't get that little 'screen flashing red, alarm going off when shields are down" warning that I remember. I was fine, and then I was...not.

I was pleasantly surprised, as I mainly got it for my son, who's a Halo nut.
