That sounds like a lot of work.
EA is not going to fix it in another patch?

Re: Madden 16
IDK they have been very quiet on the issue. Since it's nbot really a bug and more a design flaw I'm not sure what they will do. I'm just trying to make the game playable for me. With the drive goals off it plays more like last years CFM.
The 2nd method I mentioned is not a lot of work it takes about an extra 2 minutes of time.

Re: Madden 16
I have done the second method as well and it is real simple. I would say it doesn't even take two minutes. It is annoying but worth it. On the field, this is the best gameplay of Madden in a long time. I have been playing on All-Pro and with some minor slider changes (Increasing CPU run blocking is needed) you get a really great game. Penalties are actually called this year. Just a lot of fun.Danimal wrote:IDK they have been very quiet on the issue. Since it's nbot really a bug and more a design flaw I'm not sure what they will do. Yep once you know how it takes about 15 seconds before the game and after the game.icvu42 wrote: I have done the second method as well and it is real simple. I would say it doesn't even take two minutes.

For step 2 do inhave to restart my franchise to do it? Or can I do it in the middle of a franchise?

Re: Madden 16
I'm sure you can start it at anytime but how far along are you and more importantly how high are your players above their level? When I stopped on game 8 almost my whole team was playing 5-7 points above their overall which doesn't sound like much on paper but in game was noticeable. My understanding is those boost carry over to the next year so if you're already roided up you might need to restart.Inuyasha wrote:For step 2 do inhave to restart my franchise to do it? I don't think it will work if you started an online franchise (like I did). Only if it is offline.Inuyasha wrote:For step 2 do inhave to restart my franchise to do it? Or can I do it in the middle of a franchise?
I just turned the drive goal display off, but hadn't considered how much confidence would throw ratings out of whack. Oh, this game...

Re: Madden 16
The only benefit to an online franchise IMO is the cloud saves if you have multiple XB1 and play at different spots. They fed some mumbo jumbo about being able to tweak that instead of waiting for a patch which I think is BS. My online franchise losses connection with the server not allowing me to save or progress.
Honestly it takes a few minutes to set up a new offline franchise and give this method a try. The majority of people won't notice or care about this issue because they want to take the Browns to the superbowl and love to win.

Re: Madden 16
I'm creating offline now. For option 2 , I don't need to do all the options listed in option 1 right? How do you add character and you only do after week 1 or every week you have a game?
Update - found add character. Do you add for all 32 teams or just 1 team? And after the first game delete him?
Update 2- ok I add character to the team I play it says. I thought it meant user team but it say taken by me. I guess you mean the opponents team that week yes? So add character once to that team and delete after game then repeat vs the next team on schedule?
Can you make a YouTube tutorial on this ? It would be helpful.

Re: Madden 16
I'll try and lay it out since I am not in front of my XB1
1. Before you play your game go to League Options (I think) and user teams.
2. Add a character and assign him to your opponent.
3. Go back into user teams and select the team you're playing.
4. Play your game, you should be controlling your team at this point.
5. After the game go back into user teams and then retire the character assigned to the opponents team.
6. Do anything else you need to do an advance week.
Rinse and repeat.

Re: Madden 16
Thanks for the tip, Dan. This was super easy to do once I started an offline franchise -- one of the easier workarounds for an EA problem ever. Great to play franchise games without the stupid drive goals.Danimal wrote:2. Method 2 is by far the easiest method. Set up an offline solo CFM. Before playing your weekly game add a character as above to the team you play. After the game retire the character for that team before advancing the week. You don't lose any of the trading etc.
Drive goals aren't enable in Sim games which is why this is all screwed up to begin with. User teams get better and better and you'll never lose and cpu teams stay the same or get worse just from the non-drive goal normal stuff. If you're playing a regular CFM or online and enjoying it then no worries. Just know by week 4 or 5 you'll be damn near unbeatable but that's probably what 95% of madden users want.

No worries, I didn't come up with it. This makes the game enjoyable for me. Of course there is no saying EA won't do something in the next patch to prevent this work around. In their minds their confidence system and drive goals are the backbone of CFM so who knows.Brando70 wrote:Thanks for the tip, Dan. I was just asked to partake in a private survey on Madden's CFM future, I don't think this is going out to the general public. The questions were interesting but there was nothing in there on removing this system, just expanding on it.

--The drive goals made more sense contextually (like force a punt from a team if they scored on their previous drive)
--The CPU had similar boosts in user games and in simmed games
--There were negative consequences for some goals (like failing to secure a first down to ice a game)
I think confidence is a great concept, but they haven't really implemented it properly.
It is good to hear they are at least soliciting feedback on CFM.

Re: Madden 16
If you follow the steps it is pretty clear. there is a button you press to "add a character" at least that is what I recall it being named. You're essentially assign your profile to a 2nd team. You can control as many teams from your profile in a CFM as you want.fletcher21 wrote:What does "add a character" mean?

Appreciate it
Re: Madden 16
If you're on XBox, click R3 from your franchise screen and you'll see the add character option. You can use the actual coach of your upcoming opponent, it won't screw anything up. Assign him to your opponent.
When you're back to the main franchise screen, click R3 and select the coach for the team you want to control. So there should be two characters available now.
Play the game against your opponent but DO NOT advance the week. When finished, scroll to the options screen (the last screen you can scroll to), click the options and retire the opposing coach. Then you can advance your week and do it again for the next opponent.
All the in-game drive goals go away. Only the weekly goals pop up, and those don't throw the game out of whack.
It sounds more complicated than it is. After you do it the first time, it'll take 30 seconds to do.

A friend of mine started an Online League on XB1. Not for serious Madden heads. Most are older and very casual gamers, probably never touched a slider. Pace is one game a week. 6 guys in so far so most games are against CPU.

I don't have time for online leagues anymore which sucks but I miss the OTP feature. Terry and I used to play some epic Raven's vs Steeler's games in the snow.
