Re: NHL 13
MizzouRah, I just revisited NHL 13 as well. Can I ask what tuner set your using? Thanks!

Re: NHL 13
The last tuner set they released for 13 was the best one.
Re: NHL 13
One thing that I really liked about 14 is that;
1) Forwards are much more adept at positioning themselves for screens and deflections. An unmolested forward in front of the net makes a point shot scary to defend.
2) You can blast the puck past the goalie more often on open looks.
Is this what 13 fans are seeing and not liking in 14?

Mizzou : are you using updated NHL 2013-2014 season rosters for the game? I'm tempted to get it again, just sold off NHL 14 during Xmas.

Re: NHL 13
1. True, but the scoring in general is so high in 14. I can still score deflection goals at a decent pace in NHL 13.Naples39 wrote:One thing that I really liked about 14 is that;

2. You can do this in NHL 13 too... but the goal totals and shot totals for me are much more realistic in NHL 13... and I don't want to turn the speed down to 1 to have to achieve it.
Re: NHL 13
No.. I'm in season #3 in my BaGM career, so I'm still using the last update for the 2012-2013 season.Inuyasha wrote:Mizzou : are you using updated NHL 2013-2014 season rosters for the game? I'm tempted to get it again, just sold off NHL 14 during Xmas.
Re: NHL 13
Went 4-0 in preseason and then won our home opener 7-2 vs Chicago. We head to Dallas and get demolished 6-0. Really LOVE this game!
Re: NHL 13
They have NHL 14 EA Rosters up to use for NHL13 on OS. Pretty cool.

Re: NHL 13
Quick questions, because I am a little frustrated with 14 and did not own 13.
How is the board play? In 14, I feel board play is very titled toward the CPU. The CPU seems to support the puck much better, while my guys hold a freaking coffee klatch every time I've got someone pinned. Combined with the bouncing puck, the CPU seems to be able to engage in these sustained possessions that I can only manage once or twice a game. This, I think, really biases the game toward dump-in play, which is what is causing me significant frustration. I swear the better I play neutral zone defense, the more effective the CPU plays because of that damned basketball puck.
There are good parts of 14, one being that some of the play feels pretty organic and loose, where I've heard 13 is a little more locked in and predictable. Is that your experience?
How's the penalty thing? I am honestly getting very few powerplays in 14. That might be a consequence of the way I play, but I really have no idea. I seem to take 3-4 per game, so no issue there.

Re: NHL 13
Board play is much better in NHL 13.. seems pretty even on both sides and playing dump and chase works better, imho.
It's funny because I think NHL 13 is more organic as well. Third season, 3 games and I've won 7-2 lost 6-0 and won 5-2 last night.
Penalties are still crap in NHL 13, but I still see 2-5 per game.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll have to try it. There is a lot to like about 14, but some of the frustrations are a bit much. And I get the impression EA is pretty much done with support.
Re: NHL 13
cheapest I've seen NHL 13 is Microsoft Store : $12.99 new copy.
Re: NHL 13
It's now listed at $8.99, but out of stock. NHL 13 CE is in stock at $14.99.Inuyasha wrote:cheapest I've seen NHL 13 is Microsoft Store : $12.99 new copy.

Re: NHL 13
Guy at work sold it to me for 5 bucks. Man this is such a nice game. Do download the 2014 EA rosters from OS into this game. This game lives another year for me until next gen version comes out in the fall!
