Combine the above and you've got Alan Wake. There is the movie element to it, though i'd say less movie than Heavy Rain. It's a 3rd person shooter with a creepy, well done edge to it. For $4.95 you have nothing to lose.

8 GB Nook HD 7-inch tablet is $129, and 16 GB Nook HD+ 8.9-inch tablet is $149 this week at Barnes & Noble and Best Buy. Yeah, I know these aren't full-blown Android tablets and that B&N is getting out of the hardware business, hence the clearance prices disguised as Father's Day specials.

But that's still a damn cheap price for a tablet with a nice screen, Google Play access and Android root capability.

I just bought a Kindle Paperwhite, so this Nook deal is tempting. But ... I don't want the distractions a tablet offers. I just want to read.

Bad choice PK, stay away. If you're itching for a cheap tablet ASUS Memo is going to release an 7" tablet with 1280x800 IPS screen, running Jelly Bean with 8GB of storage for $129 and the 16GB is $149. That would be the better choice.

Thanks, Rod. I'm not in the market for a tablet. Just saw that deal, which looked very strong, and posted.

Pleased as punch with my Kindle Paperwhite. I want to read, read, read, read books. Plus I can send stories from the Web straight to my Kindle with one press of a Chrome browser extension.

I KNOW I would be one of those dudes for whom tablet apps, Web access, music, movies, etc., would distract me from my goal of more long-form reading.

Just found a nice deal for us Canadians (it happens once every 25 years or so).

Futureshop.ca is offering a pre-order promotion where you get a discount of something like $5/$10/$20 per game based on if you pre-order 1/2/3 games.

I just put down $39.99 each for GTAV, Beyond, Watch Dogs (PS4) and Infamous Second Son (PS4). Pretty sweet!

Rod - have you played the game? I am interested in it but really not into FPS but sort of want a change from sports gaming. I have read rave reviews, but sort of want to get some impressions from this board.
