Ya though, I wonder if it hurt of helped EA. I didn't buy FIFA, NHL or Tiger because of it. I did buy Madden.

But right there with you, $25 was well spent.

Good news is my Season pass expires 2 days into the Madden preview. So I can at least try it for a few days before deciding whether to renew the season ticket

I think $25 is a waste.. to each his own though.

At least we should see some impressions from some of you! I'm not going anywhere near OS.

Just played my first game and won on All American settings. I took USF at home against San Jose St. Trailed 7-0 and tied it up with a 32 yard td pass with 3:45 to go. SJSU promptly took the next possession and drove down the field and with 30 seconds left or so were just about in field goal range and then this..

Great first game for sure. Definitely going to get my fill of this game for the rest of the weekend.

My favorite hit of the game...

As for thoughts on the game, I haven't purchased an NCAA football game in a long time, not even sure I ever bought one for this generation of consoles. I've played the demo's the last few years and that's about it and just didn't have a lot of fun with them. Thoroughly enjoyed this years demo and my first full game. Game looks phenomenal...thos SJSU uni's just popped on my screen with color, they looked fantastic. Game played very smooth, yet still seems like EA's bag of tricks when it comes to football but it's fun to play. Atmosphere appears to be lacking though, that's my only gripe.

I still can't get over the low crowd noise, last gen and the gen before that it was never an issue. How long has this been an problem this gen and how difficult is it to turn up the phucking volume EA?

What do you mean by bag of tricks? Comeback logic, suction blocking?

I just mean that it feels a lot like the EA football I've always played. I don't think it's groundbreaking material, it feels the same to me as it always has, it's just a more fun experience.

Too bad you can't compare it to last years game. I still have that and i'm back on the fence if I want to buy NCAA and Madden 13 this year.

I bought it for the new passing system alone. That was my one big gripe with last years game.

I didn't play NCAA 12, but I LOVE the passing system in the demo for NCAA 13. Really enjoy how you can lead receivers and how throwing off your back foot, under pressure or across your body neuters the speed of passes.

I downloaded it...played a half of football and turned it off. Seriously rethinking my preorder. But I got it for so cheap via amazon I will probably keep it. However it is same old same old as far as i am concerned. I had zero desire to keep playing which is not a good sign after a half hour.

My impression after a few games, including a few head to head vs Terry.

The passing and momentum alone are worth buying the new version if you were a fan of it the last 2 years. For the first time ever the game feels violent without overdone WWE animations.

That sounds encouraging but didn't EA try that momentum thingy back on the PS2/Xbox with NCAA 06? Anyway i'm in the same boat as DB. I preordered from Amazon for $44.99 with release day shipping.

Having some good games with this.

Lots of drives by me and cpu that go for 40-50 yards then result in a punt. Real ebb and flow to games so far.

Penalties seem the same as always. I did bump them up by a few and I'm seeing a lot of offsides, holding and roughing the passer. No Pi calls as of yet but I only have it at 85 :) and trust me the videos show a lot of PI that should be called.

The best part aside from what I previously mentioned is the teams and players sure seem to show differences. Studs can get off of blocks and make plays while ho hum players just get lost in the wash. Guys with quick burst stand out from guys who are plodding runners.

I plan to play the heck out of it for the next 2 days I should know by then if I am picking it up but so far I am having a load of fun with it.

Agree with the sentiment posted above that $25 for Season Ticket was money well spent this year....hope I'll get to try Madden 13, as my sub expires 2 days after the preview can be downloaded.

Usually EA football doesn't play well on default, but on All-American and RB Block bumped up 1 notch (55) for CPU and User RBA bumped to 55/..find it's playing very well for me....Tried UTSA vs Duke in the 1st game, and Duke took it 28-7...with UTSA vs SD, i got blown out 41-7. Lost to Indiana with Ball State 24-21. Have penalties at default, and only saw four or five penalties in those 3 games. One of them was defensive PI though! Will need to bump up several for sure, but don't know which ones yet.

Also kickoff power is a problem, CPU was booting into endzone every time, bumped both me and CPU down to 40.

Played these games in a dynasty, and really liked the Studio Updates, made me feel part of a bigger world, followed #1 USC getting upset.

Game looks like a keeper in my opinion.

Maybe it's because I prefer pro football over college but I'm not liking it at all. Played an exhibition game this morning on all-american and lost 25-7 with the cpu kicking a field goal and leaving 1 second to go in the game and having to kickoff when they could have just kneeled the ball for the win. Second game played as Barry Sanders in the classic mode and ended up with 470 yards and 8 rushing tds on 28 carries. Started a game tonight and only made it a couple of plays into the second quarter before shutting it off.

I think i'll stick with NCAA 12. I can't believe how bored I am with this series. Lack of crowd noise and atmosphere is a downer. I remember how amped I would be to play NCAA 98/99 etc on the Playstation. Those games sounded like college football.

Can someone point me to some good rosters for NCAA 12?

I've been reading that Heisman is the way to play the game this year. Looks to be the most balanced.

I played some test dynasty games with San Jose State and Colorado this weekend, and into my Junior year as a QB for Cal in Road to Glory. In high school games, I was a man among boys, routinely throwing for 300 or 400 yards, but also threw a couple of picks a game it seemed on greedy throws. Trying to laser one down a seam when the safety was still in his backpedal and looking right at me.

But I LOVE having a "default" difficulty this year. Every previous iteration of the RTG mode, I'd sign onto Cal and most likely start in week 1 due to how I played in high school. In this season, since they have it set to All-American if you choose, and make it much harder to get coaches trust to move up the depth chart, I sat my entire first year on the bench. In practice, I'd get maybe 5 points for a 10 or 15 yard pass completion...but I'd get -100 points for a single pick. -50 for a fumble, and -20 for a sack. When you can't audible and can't hot route in practice, if you throw 1 or 2 picks in 25 reps, you actually go backwards in your progress on All-American. I can't even imagine what it is on Heisman.

By the end of my freshman year my ratings were really climbing, because you get a lot of XP for completions and big plays, but I made enough mistakes to still be sitting at ZERO coaches trust as the 3rd string scout team QB. My sophomore year I started making progress, and at one point had enough to actually move up to challenge #2--and then threw 2 interceptions and was back to zero.

My sophomore year came to a close and I finally went mistake-free enough to challenge the #2 QB, and destroyed him in a head to head competition (it's funny that the position battles are XP-based, whereas moving up the depth chart is all Coaches Trust-based). So I closed out my sophomore year as #2 on the depth chart behind a Senior starter. He graduated, and when my Junior year started--I was still #2. The guy I beat last year leap-frogged me into the starter's role, which made no sense. You'd think I'd have just ascended to the starting role if the starter graduated and I was #2, but no..they want you to jump through those hoops to do so.

So I managed to go mistake free in the opening week (Cal's bye week) of 2014, then won the position battle in week 2 to start opening day of my Junior year. I proceeded to throw 3 touchdowns and about 250 yards because I was a high-90's rated player by that point, throwing a TD pass with :25 left to beat Northwestern 21-14 on opening day.

Then I threw 6 picks in the next 3 games, and my Coaches Trust plummeted back to -200. By week 5 I was back on the bench, and the cycle continued. It's the first time I ever lost my starting job in one of these games, and it was actually pretty frustratingly cool. I don't know how "fun" it is, but it sure does feel real to struggle through most of your career and have your ass firmly planted on the bench.

Awesome news Terry. I really like RTG and one of the bummers in the past was going from an unknown to starter in no time.

I think you still could do it in no time--"I" just can't. I make way too many mistakes

However, I think if you use their "Reaction Time" or whatever it would be much easier. I just figured out (3 years in) that you can actually use that like every snap in practice...and still threw 2 interceptions. I think I just have to get much more patient and learn when to throw the ball away during the practice reps, and learn to actually take the checkdowns, because a 0 or +3 or 4 is much better than a -100 going for a 25 point TD pass.

But yeah...for me personally, no chance of just walking on and starting from opening day anymore. Every single school that offered me a scholarship had me as the #3 QB (even San Jose State!) as the ESPNU #8 recruit in the country, and even walk-ons were all #3 with a couple of #2's.
