LOL Bailout, bitches!!! 1-1! Back to the original gameplan!

Great defending by DaveT's favourite German right-back Boateng! :)

EDIT:
Bah, 3-1 Germany now. That has to be Klose`s 900th international goal (or something like that). This one is done. Could get ugly.....

Indeed they do.

Props to Greece though for getting this far. Salpangidis had a good tournament.

Had to work and missed it.

I am very proud of them. They did quite well making it out of group play with what they have....Then playing at 1-1 passed the 60th minute without their guy against those guys isnt so bad at all.

The win over Russia was probably their biggest outside of EURO 2004

The French team did nothing to threaten Spain's technical superiority. Portugal-Spain will be fun to watch.

Hard to blame them.

Going out on a limb, I will say that that Spain team is pretty good. :P

I don't know. I don't think France is that good. Plus their one striker system didn't seem to work all tournament long.

I think Spain could be broken down by Portugal. In reality, I think the Spain v Portugal match could end 7-6.

Balotelli is getting his chances, sooner or later he is going to convert. Despite Italy's ball possession, Welbeck had the most clear scoring chance. Johnson also had a good chance. Forza Italia!

Forza 4! :P

The first twenty minutes were great fun after that not as much. England packing it in and hoping for the counter. Good luck to them. Here is hoping that Italy score first.

Best line of the night:

'"England are Greece with shorter last names".

Actually I think Greece showed more ability to maintain possession and greater tactical awareness. Hodgson probably had more talent with Switzerland at USA 94 LOL!

I think England need to outsource player development - get talented youngsters into academies in France, Italy, Germany - hell anywhere other than England.

Few sides show such tactical cluelessness or appear to lack the capability of stringing more than 2 passes together before losing it. Good god they don't even appear to be familiar with the triangle concept.

Yep terrible way to decide a match - any match let alone a major championship quarter-final.

God I'd laugh if England won on penalties.

The better side won so that is good. Will make for a better semi also...but....

PKs are a joke.

Let them play and drop dead til someone scores like they do in hockey.

God bless the NHL for play off OT.

Yep, the English squad is a goddamned joke. But it's an indictment of the failure in England to bother with proper player development.

Im ok with Young on his recenct form even though he was crap. Henderson, yep your right , shouldnt even be in the Liverpool squad never mind an England squad.
Between him and Scott Parker well, accurate passing

Uncle Roy did better with this squad than I expected. With its injuries and lack of talent up front, I expected England to finish second in its group, at best.

Who the f*** decided it was a good thing to put Ballack in an analyst's seat? He gets more unintelligible as the tournament progresses. Thank goodness for a shootout on this occasion. Some matches just need to end.
