I get this issue with BF3 every now and again. It says can't connect to EA servers, or it acts like I just downloaded the Karkand expansion.

Sometimes it happens for a few hours, or an entire evening. I don't do anything and it works fine later. The most annoying part though is that it may clear your settings, which means setting up your controls and classes all over again.

I'm starting to fear that I only like this game when playing with you guys, which means I might not really like the game at all. It's definitely not a stress reducer.

Playing games to reduce stress....whaaaa???? :D

I finally killed a guy with the repair tool to finish the engineer challenge. It was way more satisfying than I expected.

Bah, the real challenge is destroying a vehicle with the repair tool to complete the level 2 engineer challenge!

Gaming is my escape, my time to decompress and recharge my batteries. That alone makes it a stress reliever. When I'm not gaming as much as I'd like, I begin to twitch.

The EA server disease must be spreading, as the BF servers were jacked up all weekend for me. The only consistent entry I found was picking a DICE server through the server browser. Everything else didn't work.

Give that a go. Good luck.

Quick play has been very wonky the last couple of days for me, but like PK said, I haven't had any issues using the server browser, and the rotations after that initial selection have been normal.

I finally got in a game on the server browser, but even that was wonky for awhile. Dunno.

Tonight was a wretched night for me, even by my low standards. Sorry for ditching, boys, but I was having zero fun. I even sucked during my brief trip with BF:BC2.

Moved to F1 2011 and FIFA 12, and the grin returned to my mug.

I was only on for a few minutes yesterday and wasn't feeling it either. I've been staying off shooters for a while, but I think it may have mostly been a game of team DM and then a conquest round on caspian. I've never liked conquest on caspian because it is mostly nonstop running from checkpoint to checkpoint while a few experts pilots never leave their aircraft. No fun IMO.

Yeah, there are alot of dudes on BF3 that are stud level that you can't avoid. I'm a level 31 and still get owned!

Look for me some night. I'd love to get in some BFBC2

My personal fix, now that you have these seemingly unstoppable pilots: I would NOT nerf the kill ability, but would completely eradicate both the in-flight repairing, and would only show the SOFLAM on the map whenever a rocket is fired using it. It should then disappear from the map. One other thought is that a 'perk' for the engineers could be an eventual 'scrambler' that would hide the SOFLAM. It's completely mental to have the damn thing on the radar from the moment it's set up...it's not an indicator, it's a target. Those pilots will drop everything and go blow up a SOFLAM as soon as they see it on radar, and it renders the SOFLAM, which was so great at the outset, pretty damned useless.

So, make pilots land and either have an engineer on board who must jump out to repair the heli's, or ditch it altogether; when an airborne vehicle is rendered inoperable, that vehicle should be able to land, but not continue to fly. Honestly, I'd rather a dead heli fall from the sky, giving the pilot the chance to eject, but continuing to be able to fly is just stupid.

There are simple and realistic ways to fix the overpowered aircraft, they just need to do it.

The simplest thing to do is just make aircraft have limited gas or rounds. It takes a lot of skill, but a pilot being a chopper the entire round is contrary the fun and balance of the game.
