BTW, Amazon has 3 month xbl cards for 12.99 all day. Not the best deal over the full year's worth, but not bad in a pinch either.

Thanks. I'm probably holding off on a soccer game since my kids are lukewarm on one -- even though they're all avid soccer players! -- and because I'm digging a heavily modded version of PES 12 on my lappy.10spro wrote:Agreed. If you can't find Fifa 12 on sale you can't go wrong with this one. Still have it and I spin it from time 2 time for fun.Inuyasha wrote:Want a great cheap soccer game - WORLD CUP 2010.

Righteous. It's on my son's Christmas list.dbdynsty25 wrote:Not really old but nba 2k12 is definitely worth a purchase. Fantastic game...think inside drive with much better animation and graphics.
Got it last week and love it. Superb game from 2K.dbdynsty25 wrote:Not really old but nba 2k12 is definitely worth a purchase. Fantastic game...think inside drive with much better animation and graphics.
Besides skyrim, I've only bought used games or bargain bin games for the last year at least. There are so many excellent older games $25 or less that are new to me. Couldnt keep up with so many good quality games that I finally made the decision to go cheap. I can't play online so I don't have to stay current with popular online titles either. It can be tough to do sometimes though when you read about the current great games.sportdan30 wrote:As much as everyone likes to rag on Game Stop, be sure to check out their selection of used games. They can be returned within 7 days if you're not happy with the game.
You guys do realize this is a thread started by PK looking for games he would enjoy, right? An NBA game? For PK? C'mon fellas. Might as well suggest some sort of dog breeding simulator.dbdynsty25 wrote:Not really old but nba 2k12 is definitely worth a purchase. No, no, no, my man. I got back into the NBA last season, BIG TIME. Loved it, miss it terribly during the lockout. I'm all over NBA 2K12 soon, right after I buy the Mike Vick dogfighting sim.Zeppo wrote:You guys do realize this is a thread started by PK looking for games he would enjoy, right? An NBA game? So I'm guessing I should wait to start a "my player" ?sportdan30 wrote:And now the NBA is starting back up Christmas day! The rookies will now be a part of the game, and the NBA Today feature will rock once again. Can't wait!

The resumption of the NBA has made my day. GO KNICKS!sportdan30 wrote:And now the NBA is starting back up Christmas day! The rookies will now be a part of the game, and the NBA Today feature will rock once again. Can't wait!

I have some suggestions, let me know if you have more questions:pk500 wrote: What are some really good 360 games from the last few years that are worth getting on the cheap? Games that have great gameplay/stories and still look good?
My preferred genres are team sports, racing and first-person shooters, but my mind is open to an exceptional game in any genre.

If you do go this route, listen to the current DSP Forza leader, particularly his last call:pk500 wrote: But I'm just not enjoying the driving experience in Forza. There's a good chance that I'll ditch Forza and just get fun, arcadish racing games like Need For Speed, Burnout, PGR 4 and DIRT 3, and stick to iRacing to satisfy my sim racing jones.
Flatout: Ultimate Carnage is easily the most under-appreciated arcade racer of this generation so far. Might not keep up with the flash factor of some of the others, but the arcade racing is fun and the AI can be challenging. Also has a slew of stupid, and/or stupidly fun minigames! Should be able to grab it really cheap now. Adam and I actually managed a few online multiplayer races with this one too, and they were quite fun!GB_Simo wrote:Midnight Club, Indy Evolution, Split/Second and Dirt 2 are all great shouts for racing games, mate. You'll probably be able to get a copy of PGR4 for about a penny now too. Race Pro (though you've effectively played that on PC already) is worth looking up, as is Flatout: Ultimate Carnage if you're after something a little different. Brilliant little game, that one.

Very good advice, dude. I'm really overdosing on demos now. It's like going to the Chinese buffet for lunch, with someone else picking up the tab.fanatic wrote:PK - I totally get the desire to pick up a whole bunch of cheap-but-great titles for the 360. My only advice would be to not overwhelm your library too early on. What ended up happening to me is that I gathered so many great titles, but didn't have time to really dive deeply into any of them. Over the past few months, I've been trading in some of my good games that I just won't have time to fully explore. Now I'd rather have only 1 or 2 titles going at a time, so that I can completely focus on the experience.
Remember, these cheap titles are only getting cheaper as time passes! Enjoy the new purchase.
