Re: Battlefield 3
A proud moment for me last night after everyone else hung it up for the night (of course no witnesses). My favorite map, Kharg Island, came on so I gave it the old, "just one more". Well, I had a tremendous round. I brought down a few jets, took out some tanks with my mines and just overall kicked ass!

Great, great fun last night! Also great to see PK online - even if he did bring the echo into voicechat!

Last night was a good night. I think it was one of the best nights for DSP that we've seen. Of the 8 matches that I'm looking at on battlelog we won 6 of of them. Multiple times our squad were all in the top 6, at least once members of our squad sat 1 and 2. Fun, fun stuff.

Hate I missed it, fellas. I'm in "carb debauchery weekend", having been nearly carb free for two months, and pizza and beer took me out at about 8:30 last night. Didn't wake up til nearly 10 this morning...lol

Sorry about that. My microphone was jacked up. I didn't even know there was an on-off switch! I had it off the entire time. Plus I had the damn mic too close to my mouth.Macca00 wrote:Great, great fun last night! Also great to see PK online - even if he did bring the echo into voicechat!

Re: Battlefield 3
I had my introduction to this game last night too, playing online at a mate's house. Luckily, it was his Gamertag in use, so everyone in my games believes that it's really him who can't shoot straight, is incapable of spotting an opposing soldier even when one is stood 4 feet away, scores points for 'suppression fire assist' when he's genuinely aiming for a kill and dies 9 times in a single match at the hands of a delightful chap named ImmaWhoopYoAss. Who did. He really, really did.
In spite of my complete lack of talent all across the FPS genre, I really, really enjoyed Battlefield 3. The sneaking around, the anticipation of the opponent's next move, the slow-dawning realisation that I'm only half as safe from those bullets as I think I am...all great fun. Shame I can't play it worth a s***.

I had it in my hand last night. Almost pulled the trigger but the lines and the thought of getting killed every 5 secs and being frustrated so i gently placed it back on the shelf.

Once again, another fun night. Great having Zeppo join us!
Operation Metro gives license to curse. I had more fun running around with my defibrillator reviving people while listing to brilliant versions of cussing. From Rob's high energy midwestern style to Teals southern, relaxed, beer in hand soft spoken dialect.

Three good fights on HBO last night, so I skipped gaming. Football and "Boardwalk Empire" tonight, so I'm dicey again.

Re: Battlefield 3
Wow I realy suck. I finally started getting some unlocks last night though, such as the SCAR. I don't even know about mortars, I'm so far behind in leveling. The unlocks were coming fast and furious, though. They seem to come in bunches.
I did enjoy some extended moments of fun though, on certain maps once we sort of turned the tide of the two teams. I will say we were not very good as a team with communicating where we were headed, what we were tryin to achieve at any given moment. I certainly wasn't going to pipe up since I barely know any of the maps. Also we were consistently poorly distributed as far as soldier class as a squad. Lots of times we were all engineers, or at least thee out of four. But then again it didn't matter much since we were rarely anywhere near each other as a foursome.
I did learn that spawning on Rob almost always ends up killing me, so I'll have to stick to spawning on FIFA.
More teamwork with use of the tanks or the big guns on jeeps, I think. And more coordination in terms of 'let's go take C and once we get it head immediately to A (or 'stay at C and hold off the counter attack') would help us do better, I think. Certainly this is a game that rewards teams that work together more than it does a bunch of lone wolves running around.
It was nice to get some time in with friends, nonetheless. I'm refusing to beleive these rumors of PK being back until I see it for myself, though.

Re: Battlefield 3
Zep. Great to have u in the mix.
I often times have thought about how cool it would be to have detailed communication and direction for the squad. I'd love to see us all move from one capture point to another, working as a well oiled machine. We could standardize on what direction each of us approaches from so that it's the same all night.. the list goes on.
That being said.. we've had nights where we've done a decent job of working together and nights where we are all a bit ADD. The idea of loading out properly is also a good one, although there are maps where more engineers is better. Last night Rob and I were working over a tank with the help of a 3rd non squad guy.. it took three of us to finish him off.
As for who to spawn on.. great stuff. Yes. I spawn on Rob when I want to be in the middle of the $hit storm. He's always in it, it's his style and I dig it. He's also typically where the squad needs to be tactically speaking. I'm conservative and for the most part I prefer to lurk around the edges. Of course, my primary objective on almost every map besides Metro is to lay mines. I'll gladly run in front of a jeep or tank to lay a mine knowing i'm going to die.

I want to see (hear) you're virtual ass (loud obnoxious ramblings) online for real.
