It's not even close. BF3 owns that type of gameplay. What I'm seeing now is that MW3 is the popular kid in class...but BF3 is the cooler teacher. BF feels more 'grown up'. I'll play MW3 for shits and giggles (or for throwing s*** and cussing, more likely), but BF3 is my go to for the foreseeable future.
I haven't played MW3 yet but played a lot of Domination in MW2. I like Conquest in BF3 but it can be frustrating for someone like me trying to learn the nature of playing BF. I trudge across the map, get killed, and have to trudge back. The faster nature of MW makes it easier to get back into the action after making a mistake. I don't have an issue with camping as it is a viable strategy, but it's really easy to camp in BF and that compounds the trudge/die/trudge nature of Conquest.

Admittedly, I do suck, but at the same time I'm finding it difficult to get better.
No need to "trudge" in BF3. Just spawn on one of your squad mates who is already in the action. If you wish to spawn back at deployment to grab a tank, chopper or jet simply do that.

Tonight was dsp's finest night of combat! Rob was a machine tonight on the ground and in the air!

Teal and I gave co-op a try and it was some serious firefights. I think co-op should allow 4 players
as two just isn't enough.

Good times fellas!!

I had no idea the amount of weapon info that's available at the battlelog. All of the weapon data that should be in-game is available there, which would've been helpful to know about 2 weeks ago...

It's insane. Tho I'm still having some trouble customizing kits. I unlocked a laser sight, yet it's no available on any of the guns I am using as the engineer. It says it's unlocked, it says it's available for my gun, yet it's not one of the options when I customize. So weird.

As it stands tho...Battlelog > Elite...and it's not even close.

Weapon attachments are unlocked individually for each gun based on kills made with a particular weapon. You've probably only unlocked the laser sight for a single weapon in a single class.

That's what's CONFUSING. I clearly have unlocked the Laser Sight for the M4A1, yet I can only use the Reflex RDS. I can't enable or even see the Laser version in the mods section when i'm customizing loadout. Maybe it's something else I'm missing (like enabling lasers, or something)...but something is weird.

And yes, my stats are horrible. STFU. :)

Okay. Every weapon has three attachment slots.

Sights (RDS, ACOG, Holo) go in attachment slot one.
Stabilizers (foregrip, bipod) go in slot two.
Other stuff (laser sight, flashlight...) go in slot three.

You can use the red dot sight in addition to the laser sight--it's not a replacement attachment.

Great system, eh?

Oh no s***...so it's the bottom of the three slots I have to activate for the laser. I thought it would replace the reflex one. Got it. Thanks man. Will try that later. Lame system really. It should at least show you the options instead of saying "none".

There is a orange mark present in the top corners of each slot - this orange mark is an indicator that you have something available to equip in that slot. The "none" simply means you have nothing equipped on the gun.

That confused the hell out of me, too, DB.

I actually don't like that attachment. Doesn't help when aiming down the sight and is a great way to give away your position.

but very helpful in a close shootout..so you dont have to scope your weapon. Those extra milliseconds can be very beneficial.

I am over 17 hours played, and I just discovered you can turn off the flashlight with the dpad. Also, on the M4A1 (and maybe other guns?) the dpad can switch the firing mode between full auto and 3-round burst fire.

I wonder what I'll discover when I hit 40 hours played.

Gotcha Truth...never noticed that.

And as for things you learn...yeah, crazy. I spend most of my time burst firing anyway just manually. Nice to know there is a toggle. Will have to play some more tonight. :)

True, but when I get an encounter that close I'm spraying like Hudson in Aliens. Or switching to the rocket launcher like Jonah Hill. :D

One other thing is I wish there was something like a firing range mode where you could try out attachments of the guns you use before you play. I unlocked the ACOG for the SCAR and thought I'd be able to quasi-snipe. Instead it bounced from the recoil so much I would have had an easier time petting a kitten in a washing machine during the spin cycle.

A-91

It's the first gun that I feel like I can control. Recoil seems minimal and the gun is accurate, so I get good groupings on my shots...important since I can't teach myself to go for headshots and always aim low.

I've unlocked the G36, which looks better on paper. We'll see how it goes once I unlock a few add-ons for it, though.

I'm really digging the Scar now that I've got a couple of red dot scope options! Great stopping power and accuracy. It does kick though.
