I will never understand why people wear a team's logo to a game where they are not even playing.
When I was a cubs fan I use to wear my cub gear to every Giants game. It was no biggie. After the Bartman thing, Giants fans use to joke with me and ask me if I was Bartman. One guy even throw a baseball up in the air where I was sitting and yelled 'DON'T GO FOR IT!'.
I must admit I liked the attention at the time.
Even when I use to visit 'old st. lou' (Chuck Berry Reference for those oldies fans out there) I use to wear my Cubs gear at the Cards games in their old ballpark. Over in that area, you have your neighbors be either Cubs or Cards fans, S.Illinois especially. So no surprise you'd see Cubs gear there.
Funny story - my son loves the cards since he was a kid because of that damn logo w/ the Cardinals on that Bat. That Cardinals marketing team is like genius for the last 80 some years since they've had those redbirds on that uniform. What kid wouldn't like that redbird compared to the boring ass Cub logo. Maybe the Cubs need to change their uniforms and have 2 Cubby Bears humping a baseball bat. That may draw in some more fans. (I kid).

Everyone should make it to a World Series game at least once in their lives. Do you want the guy to wait on the Cubs to make it?
True..lol....
I just have never went out of town to a game and wore my team's jersey.. not saying it's a bad thing, I just don't understand it. When I went to a Rockies game in Colorado, I bought a Colorado shirt and wore it.

Whose record? Connie Mack's for most wins by a manager? It's very unlikely that La Russa would have caught Mack. He's 1,003 wins behind. La Russa would have needed to average 100 wins per season for the next 10 years, when he would be 77. And he'd still be three wins behind Mack.
It's realistic if you're talking Torre's record for most postseason wins. La Russa was only 14 behind Torre.

Maybe he's referring to the record for most pitching changes since beginning of time?

But he's held that record by himself since 1997. He been simply adding to it for the past 14 seasons.

Sorry, he could pass up John McGraw with 36 more wins.

OK. That's not a record, though. Mack remains No. 1, probably forever.

Yeah it's one of those records like Dimaggio, Cy Young or Rose. Never be broken.
Hope we can get Francona, I think he'd fit right in.
