MF Napoli!!!
Man, Larussa got outmanaged tonight. I thought Washington took a lot of chances tonight and lucked out.
But WTF is Scrabble pitching to Napoli for?!?!

Lucked out? Why because he is the Rangers manager?
Helluva game even if it was a strange game....

Great great game (and series!)...
I started off rooting for the Cards because of the whole cinderella thing...However, I can't help but really like the personality of this Rangers team. Obviously, Washington has a ton to do with this. Love that guy!
I just couldn't understand why you would keep putting Pujols in these hit and run situations. There's NO WAY he swings at that outside pitch if Craig isn't running on the play. Don't you want him to sit back in the box and do his thing - especially with a runner on first and nowhere for the pitcher to put him? LaRussa really baffled me last night.
The Cards could have scored 10+ runs with the amount of chances they had last night. There are some losses where you admit defeat, but that was a tough one to take I bet.
By the way, CJ Wilson is not improving his free agency status one bit! I'm sure someone will stay pay him the big bucks, but teams must be at least questioning if he's worth a long term contract worth $15M+.

Gotta agree with you. You need a couple of runs and having Pujols in that situation was not the correct decision.fanatic wrote:Great great game (and series!)...

Well isn't the story now that Puljos called the H/R??? Not LaRussa?
Also I'm not buying the whole phone story. Listening to Rom, he's got a funny take on how does Motte sound like Lynn?
As for Washington, he took chances, and they all worked out, that's what I was trying to say.

Re: MLB Season 2011
LaRussa will NEVER admit he made a mistake.
I like Texas though.. kudos to them.
We need a big game 6, but honestly.. if I was a betting man, I think Texas will win it tomorrow.

I stand corrected, my apologies to Mr. LaRussa.... the whole thing is quite sketchy though.DivotMaker wrote:MizzouRah wrote:LaRussa will NEVER admit he made a mistake.

How are cardinal fans feeling right now watching the last few innings of Albert's career in a cardinal uniform?

Nice effort in right by Cruz. Wow that was bad. At least the cards get a few more innings of pujols.

Holy crap. This game is epic. One of the best world series games ever.
Re: MLB Season 2011
Cards just won't go quietly. Wow.
Re: MLB Season 2011
wow, what a game. Texas is done, how do you come back from this. LaRussa had no hitters left in the late innings but still won.

BOOM! Freese crushed that ball in the 11th.
I'm not a baseball fan, but that was pretty damn good entertainment.
P.S.: Loved Joe Buck's call on the game-winning tater: "Freese hits it to deep center ... we'll see you tomorrow night."

Wow! If you're just a baseball fan in general then this WS has to be one of the most entertaining ever. So much drama it's ridiculous.

Unreal....amazed......don't know quite what else to say!
Re: MLB Season 2011
I agree that was brutal. The reaction by the pitcher was great. WTF?!?!dbdynsty25 wrote:Nice effort in right by Cruz. Wow that was bad. At least the cards get a few more innings of pujols.
The credit goes to the Cards as they never stopped coming. To do that once is tough but to do it two straight innings.
Great stuff.
Great win and a heart breaking loss.
I almost agree with lance. I really cant see how the Rangers can bounce back but ya never know.

Gratz to you sir.sportdan30 wrote:Unreal....amazed......don't know quite what else to say!
Enjoy your game 7.
Re: MLB Season 2011
That was AMAZING!
Re: MLB Season 2011
I cannot even begin to imagine the dejection felt by Texas fans or the sheer elation for Cards fans.

Re: MLB Season 2011
That dude who ran into the grass to catch the HR ball...traded it for a signed bat. Now, the question is...why the F did he allow his Cubs fan buddy to be part of the picture and to wear Cubs gear to a Cards playoff game?

Re: MLB Season 2011
Barring a minor miracle, Texas is done. Twice within a strike of winning the WS only to lose. Key issue for tonight is Napoli's ankle. That was a bad sprain and I honestly do not know how he continued. Once the adrenaline wore off, I am betting his ankle is throbbing and the size of his kneecap this AM. If he can't go, the Rangers have even less chance of winning as they have completely lost all momentum....been following the Rangers since 1972 when they moved to Arlington and this was really tough to take, much tougher than last years WS where they did not have a chance against a hot SF team. At least this has been a very entertaining series. I have never ever seen a WS with this much drama and back and forth lead changes as this one. Congrats to the Cards and their fans on not giving up. I think you will be rewarded for that persistence tonight.
