I assume if you install the game disc, you don't need to install the HD pack?

That's what I assumed. I installed the game and there weren't any options presented to install an HD pack.

UPDATE: I lied.

Once you start the game it prompts you to download the 1.5 GB HD Pack!

Not sure. It loaded up pretty quick (5 minutes) so I'm guessing it's on the disc.

Having double getting into my first game.

Still can't get into a MP game. Damnit!

Update: Looks like the servers are down. Gonna go in for some campaign action.

This was almost inevitable. The online registration, battlelogs etc. are all FUBAR too.

DICE and EA trying to recreate the PC experience on the consoles....by making it annoying! First I installed both discs, booted it up, then was told I had to install the texture pack (even though installed both discs), then I had to input the 24 digit online pass and thennnn I had to input my pre-order code!

But, when it did run - brilliant and like Teal side - looks just fine. Like a better looking version of Bad Company 2 (which was already a pretty game). Can't wait to play some more with you guys, will be on and off through the evening - may not always be able to do voice chat (depending upon how asleep the kid is).

I got all registered...linked my gamer tag, got the BattleLog thing hooked up...just can't gett into a MP.

I got half an online session before I was kicked out. The PC servers are still up I just played a game.

I like the voice communication on the 360 and I got it just to play with the DSP guys but coming from the PC version even with the HD pack it is butt f***in ugly. I mean it is night and day, not even close.

It's not even comparable and yes I have a top of the line right a Falcon Northwest and the graphics are amazing. Sorry if this makes you upset, get over it.

I know the PC version is shinier and all that, but really, when there's a 2000 dollar investment to GET that shinier s***, who really cares? Add to that that BF3 on the 360 looks better than BC2, and we really don't have anything to talk about. Butt-f'ing ugly...please.

Why do I hate all the new maps so much?!?!? Ugh! Does anyone else feel like they are a step back from BF:BC2? Were they trying to hard to compete with CoD?

So many boxy, open warehouse areas or narrow corridors. The only wide open spaces are the f*ckin' dreaded wasteland portions on the large maps from the spawn point to the objectives.

I was as geek'd over the release of this game as anyone and I want to love it but I'm just not feeling the map design at all. Gameplay is fine, but man, there is absolutely no 'wow' factor for me with any maps. I STILL get a 'wow' factor from maps in BF:BC2. Some of the vistas and colors with all the chaos is incredible. Not really seeing any of that here.

Well, I haven't seen any of them yet

but if you really hate them the map pack with redone maps from BF2 will be out in a month.
