Derek Lowe being Derek Lowe. Cards can pretty much count on a Braves loss tonight. He's started like he normally does...horribly. Hopefully that Astros can hook me up again tonight.

Ol batting practice Jake has shown up. Cards are choking big time.

Nothing like "wanting" it badly. Braves down 7-0...Cards down 5-0. LOL. Awesome. Both teams are terrible.JOZ wrote:Ol batting practice Jake has shown up. Cards are choking big time.
Re: MLB Season 2011
Sox are up 5-3,,and the Rays down 3-2 ,yet Markakis makes a tremendous catch to save 3 runs, meanwhile the Rays turn a bases loaded triple play. Hopin karma is coming the Rays way yet.

Doesn't matter who makes it, either team will get swept in 3 games.dbdynsty25 wrote:Nothing like "wanting" it badly. Braves down 7-0...Cards down 5-0. LOL. Awesome. Both teams are terrible.JOZ wrote:Ol batting practice Jake has shown up. Cards are choking big time.

Maybe karma is working ,Matt Joyce 3-run HR....Rays back on top!snaz16 wrote:Sox are up 5-3,,and the Rays down 3-2 ,yet Markakis makes a tremendous catch to save 3 runs, meanwhile the Rays turn a bases loaded triple play. Hopin karma is coming the Rays way yet.
Re: MLB Season 2011
Rays take care of business. Rays announcers threw out a stat that the Rays are 29-0 when they have scored at least 5 runs in a game.

Re: MLB Season 2011
I can't believe the Cardinals are playing a meaningful last game of the season! Great win tonight to come from 5 down.
On August 25th, the Braves held a 8.5 game lead over the Giants, and a 10.5 lead over the Cardinals! The Cards were 67-63. Now, both
the Braves and Cardinals are 89-72. Crazy how this game can be.

Looking forward to tonight. Hope they are good games.
Any idea why the season is ending on a Wednesday? Always remembered it ending on a weekend.

Re: MLB Season 2011
It started a half-week early back in the spring, on a weekend instead of early in the week, so it's ending a half-week early. I think it's because eventually they're going to try to squeeze in another tier of playoffs, two wildcard teams from each league playing a play-in game. I think they're talking about starting that next year or the year after. Good thing they're not doing it this year, it would totally KILL all the wildcard drama going on right now.Pete wrote: Any idea why the season is ending on a Wednesday? Re: MLB Season 2011
good luck to everyone with teams in this fight! (snaz, Sportdan, Mizzou, DB, and others)
NYY will be starting Dellin Betances tonight. One of their top 2 pitching prospects, in their system. First career start

Re: MLB Season 2011
that means that Boston better win or they are going home.

Do you think the Yankees would lay down on the chance that the Red Sox would not make the playoffs?

Re: MLB Season 2011
Did you not see last nights game? There was quite a few instances of "dogging" it. Tex not scoring from 2nd on a double being the most glaring.Pete wrote:Do you think the Yankees would lay down on the chance that the Red Sox would not make the playoffs?
Re: MLB Season 2011
I think there's a good chance we see 2 play in games tommorrow. D. Price goes for the Rays against Yankee callups/ and relievers(although that scares me with Rays) Yanks did that last week against the Rays with decent results. Huddy has got to have a performance left in him vs. Joe Blanton/C. Hamels, etc. I think the Braves get it done. Same for John Lester, even with 3 days rest. Dude is just too good of a pitcher. And gotta like Carpenter vs the Astros. Bottom line is that whom ever makes the playoffs from the wild card slot,is going to have thier starting rotation turned upside down in round 1. I guess pretty much the way it should be.
Re: MLB Season 2011
nope. As they've yet to do it. The other night the Yankees had myself (and majority of fans) in a rage, by playing a 14 inning game (vs Boston) to lose. Girardi posted a nearly complete AA/AAA lineup, and refused to pinch-hit Jeter, Arod, Martin, Andruw Jones etc. These were all key situation with runners on in late/extra innings. And then they brought in Scott ProctorPete wrote:Do you think the Yankees would lay down on the chance that the Red Sox would not make the playoffs?
Re: MLB Season 2011
Yea that was kinda wierd. If I'm not mistaken, the ensuing triple play occurred shortly thereafter.dbdynsty25 wrote:Did you not see last nights game? There was quite a few instances of "dogging" it. You can watch the big 4 games today on ESPN3. If you have a 360, you can utilize the split screen feature to watch it on the ESPN app as well.

Phils going for a franchise record in wins (102) so there is some incentive to play.dbdynsty25 wrote:Fuuuuuuuck off!sportdan30 wrote:Phillies lineup tonight. Gooooo Phillies!
