Unfortunately you don't get to play the Braves every week. Don't get too carried away.
No we get to play the Cubs, Reds, Pirates, and Astros too.

RIP Ernie Harwell. :(

As a kid, long before cable TV, if the Tribe wasn't playing, as a last resort I'd listen to the Tigers' games just to get my baseball fix. I always wondered how he knew where the fan who caught the foul ball was from? :D

The Cards caught the Braves at the perfect time. They aren't as bad as they looked that week.

Dominic scored a dozen new Maxbats and 6 Twins tickets for three hours of hitting and putting up with an annoying reporter this morning.

He thinks it was well worth it.

What the HELL happened to his voice? The last time I talked to Dom, he was three octaves higher! The boy is a MAN!

Great piece, Jack-diggity. Don't know why I ventured into the MLB thread, but I'm glad I did! :)

So if H. Ramirez told his manager that he wad hurt when he was hit with a pitch earlier, why didn't he sit on the bench instead of giving that half lamed effort to run after the ball as the ARI runners were trotting home.

He was rightfully benched after, it was pathetic to watch.

Jays continue to surprise people as they hit 4 more homers today leading the league in HR and continue to play hardball in a very tough division.

You bet. It hurt my guts to see him go. He's going to be good for the Phillies for a long, long time.

OMFG.

http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=300602106

DETROIT -- Armando Galarraga of the Detroit Tigers lost his bid for a perfect game Wednesday night with two outs in the ninth inning on a call that first base umpire Jim Joyce later admitted he blew.

First baseman Miguel Cabrera cleanly fielded Jason Donald's grounder to his right and made an accurate throw to Galarraga covering the bag. The ball was there in time, and all of Comerica Park was ready to celebrate the 3-0 win over Cleveland, until Joyce emphatically signaled safe.

The veteran ump regretted it.

"I just cost that kid a perfect game," Joyce said. "I thought he beat the throw. I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the replay."

Wow. As that was the last out, and it's clear on replay, they should just go back and call it an out and award the perfect game.

Don't know what an apology would do for Galarraga at this point as he was robbed of perfection and history in the books. Tough break.

Another reason to hate all umpires. . .everywhere. . .they all suck on principle.

This call will lead to full blown replay because there just cannot be anymore blind and foolish calls like this anymore. . .it's just pointless to let these smug and haughty umps ruin games and history. . .
