NFL Season 2009

The final four is set and Im looking forward to it.
Looks like the Colts lay down strategy has paid off in spades. Grats to Indy.
Not only were they well rested and able to easily handle the Ravens but their anointed team, the Jets, take down the one team that could stop them from getting to the SB.
I loved the Twilight Zone and Im hoping for Leebo's Rod Serling finish with a Jet victory in Indianapolis. Im just not counting on it.
Colts 27 Jets 10
As for the Saints Vikings. Both teams looked unbeatable and Im drawing a blank so Ill get out my trusty dart board and say
Vikings 24 Saints 23

Somebody pinch me....the JETS in the AFC Finals!!!!
Wow. I hope all the ling suffering JET fans are enjoying this wild ride. If they can get into the SB with a rookie QB, that would be unheard of.
Bring on the Colts!!! You can be sure Indy will want to erase that debacle from a few weeks ago against NY.

The Jets have a tough defense and can run the ball. A perfect storm recipe for beating the Colts.
Why the hell not?
Vikes-Saints could be like the Cuban Missile Crisis. The two season-long NFC superpowers head to head -- loser is the one who blinks first.

I fully expect Manning to shred the Jets. Norv Turner needs to go back to 80's Offensive Coordinating 101. All that 46 and blitzing D the Jets play need to be countered with 3-step drop passing. Turner stuck to his guns and tried far too many mid and deep passes. Manning won't make the same mistake.

Do you think Manning is watching the film from the Dolphins Bears 85 MNF game right now?

I know Zeppo disagrees but I just think that Norv Turner is a terrible coach. When you see stupid penalties like the Chargers were taking today it's a sign of bad coaching. I'm no big fan of the Jets but I like Ryan, being Buddy's spawn and all, and I severely dislike Philip Rivers so it was nice to see the Jets get the win. It's also interesting that the game I thought going into the weekend would be the snoozer of the weekend was actually the only good playoff game of the weekend.
It looks like we're in for an exciting Championship weekend.

Nobody deserves the wealth of NFL schaudenfruede I've experienced over the past 2 weeks with Cincy, Baltimore, NE, and Dallas all losing big. So the law of averages is against me and I sense a Colts rout. But I'll still be rooting for the J-E-T-S...XXXIV wrote:I loved the Twilight Zone and Im hoping for Leebo's Rod Serling finish with a Jet victory in Indianapolis. Im just not counting on it.![]()
Min/No vs. the Colts would be the best Super Bowl matchup on paper in a very long time so I won't be too upset if the Colts win.
Easier said than done, though. The Jets really do have an amazing defense.RobVarak wrote:I fully expect Manning to shred the Jets. Norv Turner needs to go back to 80's Offensive Coordinating 101. At the same time, they lucked out in that win. Revis made a EA-needs-to-patch-this kind of interception, and Rivers's second interception was an astoundingly poor throw. Even without the Kaeding misses, those two turnovers were the difference. I don't think they'll goad Indy into those types of mistakes.
I personally see San Diego's loss as a bit of Schottenfreude for kicking Marty to the curb after a 14-2 season.

Also, if there is a just and loving God, the Vikings don't win that game next week.

There is really no team left I can even muster an ounce of like for.
I hate the Jets coach Ryan, same with the Saints plus they have Bush who is even more of a d***** bag. The Vikings are the one organization I despise most in the NFL, and the Colts...well I can't even muster hate for them I have just apathy.
I guess if I had to pick I'd rather have Colts / Saints and at least I could be apathetic or be happy for Brees if he wins. The thought of 2 weeks of Favre dick sucking and Ryan's vitriol makes me sick.

L.T. said after the game that the Jets had the toughest defense he has faced all year. That's quite a compliment!Brando70 wrote:Easier said than done, though. I think the Jets will be very competitive with the Colts. I think Sanchez will have a better passing day than he had vs SD and that the offense will play better. They almost won that game Sun on pure defense alone and I'm not sure that will work vs. Indy. Either way, I can't wait for the next game!!! It's finally fun to be a Jets fan

If the Colts take that approach the key for the Jets will be holding them to FG instead of TDs, something that Baltimore couldn't do. If the Jets are running the ball effectively and the Colts are chewing up the clock with short passes then it substantially shortens the game, which is all a road dog with a rookie QB can ask for. If the Jets can pass on Indy better than the Ravens did it should be a fun game to watch.Brando70 wrote:Easier said than done, though. Do the Jets have an answer for Dallas Clark and Addai out of the backfield? Wayne will probably be stuck on 'Revis Island.'
did the Jets have an answer for Gates? As you mentioned when time is ticking off the clock, everything via the opposing team's offense is minimized. The media experts (not of one which picked the jets) were reminded of this last night/today.Leebo33 wrote:Do the Jets have an answer for Dallas Clark and Addai out of the backfield? Yes, at least 2 dropped passes including one that could have went at least 30 yardsvinny-b wrote:did the Jets have an answer for Gates?Leebo33 wrote:Do the Jets have an answer for Dallas Clark and Addai out of the backfield? Wayne will probably be stuck on 'Revis Island.'

edit. Gates also had 8/93
