Guitar Hero 5 is already down to 29.99 at Amazon. You no longer get the Van Halen game free, but a $30 price drop is pretty nice.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0028Z ... d_i=507846

Of course, all the music games will probably be insanely discounted once late November comes around.

It is? It's 49.99 on the link you provided.

Edit: oh, I see the problem, you had the PS2 version highlighted. It's 29.97 where the rest are 49.99.

That's odd. The 360 version was 29.99 earlier in the day. I guess they changed the price.

Saw this over at CAG

at tru.com rather than the buy 2/1 free sale next week at the store.

and the best part is you can use preorders!

Pick 2 games $50 or more
add them to cart
enter promo 931073 then 931085 for 20% off $75 and $10 off $75 .

Yeah, but the $10 off should bring it back in line. Overall it looks cheaper than picking it up locally. Was thinking Forza 3 and COD MW2. Would be $94 shipped.

Are Forza3 and COD MW2 $60 games?

If you do the buy 2 get 1 deal locally, you'd pay $120 plus tax and get 3 games and so each game would be about $44 after taxes.

In your example, you're paying $47 per game after taxes and shipping?

Of course, your total is less but you have 2 games instead of 3.

But it might be worth doing it just for the no-hassle preorder games.

Both those games are over $50 so you're good. Yeah I found the better deal is to go for the B2G1F or wait for an Amazon sale.

Tried it with two $60 games. Preorder games are suppose to have free shipping but in this case, as soon as I applied the discount codes, the shipping came back in.

Bottom line, it was $99.90 including tax and shipping.

Not bad but if I did the BOGO deal at retail, I pay $131.80 for 3 games.

So I'll check that out but the only thing tricky is going to be the preorders because one of the games I want is FIFA and that comes out after the sale.

So we'll see if the gift receipts work.

I bit on the TRU B2G1F deal. I bought Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2 (360) and Live 10 (360). I used a $10 card and all those games ship free so I ended up paying $118 with tax included. Not bad and beats having to drive 30 miles to my nearest TRU. 8)

And HOW did you do that since pre-orders are excluded?

Certain preorders were allowed and the list was posted on CAG's website, Bioshock 2 and Uncharted 2 was on that list. :)

I tried Forza 3 but it wasn't part of the list, oh well that game will drop like a rock in price anyway.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Rather than go through the whole ordeal of visiting multiple b&m stores to get the 3 games I want I was able to get them all online with free shipping. I got Brutal Legend, Operation Flashpoint, and Uncharted 2 for $127.48 without leaving the house. :D

The free shipping says 3-8 days so I'm hoping to have the games by the weekend.

Did you apply the $10 off coupon for your order because it qualifies?

Probably the only preorders they allow are those games releasing this week, so they would have been available during the sale period.

Incorrect if what Rod said is true since Bioshock 2 doesn't come out until January-ish.

Zlax, be careful with the placeholders or gift receipts because some CAG members are reporting that TRU's are catching on to this and are only allowing for a full return of all items within 30 days. Apparently the system has been used and abused. :)

You may want to ask the store policy before leaving the store.

I picked up Live 10, Batman and WET. toys r us doesn't have Demon Souls which sucks. I plan to go back Weds and get Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend and something else. If they don't have those by then I will go the online route.

I had no problems returning stuff last year, they can't refuse a return on unopened merchandise unless it clearly states it's 30 days somewhere on the receipt.
