PGR2 for 30 bucks
ESPN BB for 40 bucks
Splinter Cell:PT for 50 bucks
TOCA Race Car Driver 2 for 30 bucks
Colin McRae 4 for 20 bucks
Rainbow 6:3 for 50 bucks
NBA Inside Drive for 30 bucks
NHL Rivals for 30 bucks
Halo for 30 bucks
EA Sports Fight Night for 50 bucks
Links 2004 for 30 bucks

Those are all solid games for the Xbox. It depends on what types of games you are looking for. Obviously any game you choose would have to compliment your PS2 collection so maybe stick with games that weren't available to you pre-Xbox.

I don't know if this sale is still going on, but last week Best Buy had all XSN titles for buy 2 get one free at the $29.99 price tag. So you could get NHL Rivals, NBA Inside Drive, and Links 2004 all for $60. Not bad for three really good XBL titles, even if they are all discontinued.

Circuit City also had PGR2 new for $24.99. Again, I don't know if it was just a week long sale or not. Either Best Buy or Circuit City was also selling Halo for $19.99

If any of these sales were still going on, you could get Links 2004, NBA Inside Drive, NHL Rivals, PGR2, Halo, and Colin McRae 4 for a total of $105.00 Not bad for 6 quality games. That would normally be $300 worth of console games for most PS2 releases.

Add in $30 for TOCA Race Driver 2 tomorrow, or another $39.99 for ESPN Baseball and you really have a long list to play with.

Edit: Just saw that Scoop beat me to posting almost the exact same info. Guess that's why they call him Scoop. :)

Moto GP2 is the most fun Ive had on Live.
That game in its hey day was 10 hrs a day of Bsing, drinking and racing....

Wow. I wonder if we're brothers! ... That was exactly what I did. Ahhh, the fond memories of MotoGP and MotoGP2.

...and, I'm willing to bet if I started playing again, I would get hooked all over again!

Here's what my list would look like:

1. Halo- Probably the best game ever made. Period.
2. ESPN Football- The best sports game on the Xbox, and the release of the next one is still far enough away to ensure that you get your money's worth, especially if you buy a used copy.
3. NBA Inside Drive 2004- The best basketball game is an Xbox exclusive, so you might as well take advantage. Plus you get updated rosters playable online, which is a rarity for Xbox gamers.
4. Splinter Cell: PT- The game can be frustrating at times, but it is undoubtedly a unique experience and very well done.
5. ESPN Baseball- The best of the baseball games this year, and it's online to boot.

I would give honorable mention to NCAA 2004 and SSX3.

is Inside Drive really worth getting? I have heard both ends of the spectrum on this one. How does it compate to Live?

Jack:

No console basketball game -- college or pro -- tops Inside Drive 2004 if you want to play realistic basketball. The off-the-ball movement and individual team tendencies are off-the-hook good.

If you want something looser and more arcadish, go with NBA Live 2004. That's not an indictment of Live -- just some advice.

Take care,

I would put TOCA 2 to the top of your racing game list, followed closely by PGR2.

TOCA 2 is breathtaking.

Damn, you're going to need to take a week off of work at least to get any type of playing time with those games. Talk about overwhelming. Better invest in an AR as well.

If you haven't played ESPN College Hoops on the PS2, definitely rent it for the Xbox. Hands down it was my favorite hoops game this year. The pagentry and the excitement of the fans was just unreal. While the gameplay may have not been on par with ID (which by the way, I think it was) there's absolutely nothing like the college game. Inside Drive's lack of atmosphere was incredibly stale, and that inevitably killed the game for me....but maybe you'll enjoy the gameplay. I thought it was lacking in several areas.

PK....I'm not really into the Rally racing. I prefer motocross (MTX) or street (NFSU) style racing. I might give it a rent though, based on your reccomendation and if it becomes the "hot" game on XBL.

Dan....I'm not really into college hoops....prefer the pros. I really like this year's "Live" on the PC, but am looking forward to playing Inside Drive. You are right about needing a week off :) I haven't even taken my xbox out of the box yet! Hope to do that tonight.

MTX Mototrax is good motocross game with Live that's only $29.99 retail. I also would check out NFSU, Burnout 2 and PGR 2 if you like street racing.

TOCA 2 won't suit you if you're a "Fast and the Furious" kind of guy. But it's so damn good that I bet you'll learn to love it.

Good luck!

Pete, I have NFSU and MTX Mototrax already. I am planning on picking up PGR2 soon and also I loved Burnout2 on the PS2. Looking forward to Burnout 3. The previews sound amazing.
