Yes, I have been using that, but it slows the game down a lot to look at that for every batter.

So what are the little colored boxes that pop up in the strike zone then?
Dude, just look like 5-8 posts up.
I dont think it was answered correctly.

If you don't know the answer, how would you know if it was or wasn't answered correctly?

Edit your roster beforehand,or use a second controller to set up the cpu team.

Anyone try the PC demo or full game yet? I just installed it and it looks great, but I can't get my wireless usb/360 controller working properly. It wont recognize the analog sticks for some reason???

I downloaded a roster off 2kshare (don;t recall the name, but it claimed to have 50 prospects and all the spring training invites). Anyway, my 360 froze every time I tried to load it (tried 3 times). Anyone else having this issue? I can load 2kshare sliders just fine.

BTW, I played a few games with BFJ's Version 2 sliders & they're pretty great. I haven't had more then 2 HR's in any game with about 6 to 10 hits per team, per game.

Jack, I got this from the 2k Sports forum:

"Its been posted, at the play ball screen(controller select) turn the controller off then back on then press start."

Hope this helps!

This is from the OS forum:

***FIX***Wireless XBOX 360 Controller for PC

To get the wireless XBOX 360 controller to function properly start the game and do not turn the controller on until you get to the "Play Ball" screen. You will then have a 100% working controller.

EDIT: In order to get your main profile to load and be attached to the controller the easiest method is to actually start the game with the wireless XBOX 360 controller on and then wait until the game loads to the "Play Ball" menu(the team selection screen) and then turn the controller off(take the battery pack out) and turn the controller back on and you will have a 100% working controller. If you do not do this then your original profile will be attached to the keyboard as an input device.

Well....i'm at the point where i'm just frustrated with this game....it's an ongoing love/hate thing with me. I think as soon as the price drops on the PS3 i'm gonna buy one and pick up the Show. Every system i've ever purchased had a system selling game for me and I guess the Show is going to finally sway me.

2K advertised the game as a Pick Up and Play BB game. That's how I approached it and i'm having fun with it. Yeah it would be nice if they fixed some of the things that are wrong but I just view it as a casual BB game.

The Show is just in a different league altogether. Btw does anyone know when 2K's license is up? They really need to stop making BB games and let someone else like EA do it.

After two nights, I am finally able to play some more 2K9.

Wow, I am still loving every minute of it.

I hit a low liner to right, towards the line, and Austin Kearns reached low while running to his left, the ball hit the heel of his glove and bounced out...a two out, error that gave me a run...SWEET!

The cursor/zone hitting is terrific, very rewarding, and the game is playing well on all star default.

I have had 4 taken strikes the first 4 innings...not to bad.

I can't wait to play more...after the office.

Wow...

I'm having a blast besides a few fielding issues. Just lost 7-0 on AS defaults against Tampa Bay. Kazmir was unreal.. only allowing 3 hits.

There is some quirky fielding issues I'm having, but in all.. I'm having fun.

Well now I just had a decent game using Guru's sliders...I played as the Nats and lost 4-1 to the Padres so maybe there is some hope afterall.

I'm having fun as well. There are a handful of sliders that could stand to be adjusted, mainly the cpu pitch selection/success stuff.I am fairly confident 2K can address the cpu hitter aggression via Living Rosters or patch.Hopefully, they can fix the roster editing limit, too, but I am just going to roll with the official updates anyway,so it's all good.

Tried the PC demo and was very impressed. I think I may return my 360 version and get the PC version for a lot less money. The game plays identical and looks a little better (sharper edges, mostly). Playing it with my 360 controller/USB Wireless connection....you can't tell the difference.
The only thing I think I lose with the PC game is the vibration.

I think the MVP-Mod community will be all over this one. They haven't had a PC baseball game to mod in many years and I think they will turn this into a great game.

I hope some slider explanations are put out soon. I just played a game with All Star defaults, and did a few tweaks that I hoped made the AI pitch more balls, etc.

Anyway, maybe whatever i did borke it, or I'm just getting better, but as of the 8th inning when I quit, I (as the Nats) was beating the Braves (sorry db) 16-4, and I had 20 hits.

I think the hitting influence is too strong, even at 50. I will try playing with that, but some sliders I have no idea what they mean....

AI Pitch Selection Tendency? Is this how often they use all their pitches?
AI Pitch Zone Tendency- Strike zone tendancy I understand, but this?

Also the human batting slider called Batting Pitch Influence?

If VC patches the batting aggresiveness, that will help also with less balls in play.... so I hope the rumours of a fix for that is true.

I have to say, Living Rosters is pretty darn cool though. I like how they also have fixed helmets and uniforms with it......

edit:found the acutual slider names

You also lose online play as well. ;)

MVPmods.com have released Wrigley Field and new rosters. I installed Wrigley field but haven't tried the rosters yet. I think the PC version is the best value.

I can live without online play for an extra $40 in my pocket :)
You also lose that nice surround sound. My PC only has regular 2 speaker stereo.

I think most DSPers are getting The Show anyway, so I have no desire to play randoms. I usually play my baseball games solo anyway.

I think the PC version is the way to go! I am actually on my way to pick it up from Gamestop right now :)

I tried Guru's 2.0 sliders and they are pretty cool. Sabathia was kicking my ass with his fastball at the corners, but I eventually got the hang of it and at least started making contact. My Mets lost in the bottom of the 9th 1-0.

I'm liking it a lot, and actually get more impressed with it as time goes on. I'm just playing exhibition games so far, I'll start a season once the real season starts. Maybe I'll try a playoff series in the meantime.

Slightly OT but lookie at who is posting in the 2ksports forums

Why it is our old friend Basebal_Guru (aka resin, common sense, etc, etc)

Why MLB2K9 is a waste of money. (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
Baseball_Guru

http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210430

I wish 2K sports would put up a better effort at making a decent game. I work in the industry so I know how difficult it is to keep everybody happy, but this game will please only the most casual baseball fan and the most casual gamer, and only for a short time.

Apparently this thread has just been deleted by the 2kstaff.
