Halftime in Madrid. Somehow despite the physios coming on to tend to Torres for at least a minute the ref blows for halftime at 45:04 and denies a CK to LFC. LOL

No problem for the English clubs against the best of Spain and Italy.

Well maybe Barca but they may be the only ones to advance.

I thought Yosi was MotM even before scoring. He and Robben were the only two players on the pitch who were consistently pushing the game forward.

Incidentally, I saw that SAF didn't start Tevez or Rooney yesterday. Good thing he wasn't destroying football by rotating his squad. :)

Real lacked cohesion and patience. Can't quite understand why they don't do well in this Championship. It just seems that the more turmoil and gossips around Rafa, the better the team responds.

Rafa is the only manager in world football that rotates his squad. Incidentally, Zonal Marking does NOT work.

:)

Miss you bro, I got to get another 360 and get back on Live!

Was playing in MLS so bad that Youri Djorkaeff had to retire from soccer and resort to this?

Yowzer. At least he waited until he was finished playing, unlike Gazza:

Or Hoddle and Waddle, only one of whom is capable of remembering to keep miming all the way through:

Or Kevin Keegan...:

Embedded especially for Naples, who shall no longer have to chase around tidying my links into something useful.

Rafa declares victory?

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... nd&cc=5901

Parry is a fungus. He's perfectly qualified to be next chief at the FA :)

Parry is actually very knowledgeable about football, and a pretty decent bloke to boot. Given Benitez's track record with transfers, and his seeming reluctance to use their academy players, I'm not sure that I'd be handing him all the cards either.

Well virtually every open season has seen Parry and Rafa at loggerheads over a major piece of business, which means that the relationship wasn't strong to begin with and that it's difficult to judge who had final say on many of the signings or failures to sign. As for his reluctance to play academy players, I think that's due at least in part to the lack of quality coming through.

Yes, Rafa - learn the golden rule....when you get rid of the fall guy, you better not be taking any more falls.

Rafa is a Champions League manager not a EPL manager. :D

Funny how they fail to gain any ground after the "keegan" statement.

Well, time to turn off the EPL for another year. Maybe tune in around Easter to start watching the relegation battle.

Wednesday 7 points off the playoffs which means they won't get another point until April.

I had a chance to watch the Aston Villa match this weekend on the net. What a game. They were up 2-0 at home with less than 10 minutes to go and they walk away with a tie. I can't remember if they were playing Stoke but what a fun match to watch. 8)

If you want fun (and some great goals) have a look for the highlights of yesterday's Athletico Madrid vs Barcelona game.

You won't be disappointed.

A-League Grand Final was funny to watch. Those teams just hate each other (Adelaide and Melbourne). 2 red cards and a few near brawls including after the whistle.
