You might check out the 2ksports forum. That place and OS scare me too much to tread over there this close to release.

Stupid Fry's Electronics. I had 2k9 in my hand, ready to pay for it, but of course, it didn't ring up, then they investigated and told me they couldn't sell it to me. Jerks.

What version are you getting? I hope my PC can handle MLB 2K9. :)

I'm surprised you're having trouble purchasing either game. There seems to be a lot of people out in LA who have both games.

I haven't really looked at all really. Was in Fry's looking at TVs and just happened to see it, so I tried to buy it. Where is everyone finding these games? Although I'm pissed I just heard that...since now I'm gonna be on a wild goose chase to find em. LOL. Crap.

And Rod...I'm getting the 360 version...just so I can sell it after The Show kicks it's ass. I'm a sucker for all things baseball though, so I always get both.

That's why you should get the PC $19.99 version. Your system is similar to mine, it should handle it easy. NBA 2K9 looks great on the PC. MLB 2K9 should be no different. :)

How was it even out on the shelves yet?

Sorry to hear that DB. Sucks to have it taunting you right out in the open, wanting to be purchased.

Jack,

Stores get the games early. Many Mega-Stores have employees that are not Mega-Bright. Fortunately (for stores who do not want to get dinged by publishers for selling the game early) some smart software programmer was able to write a small bit of code that says "yes, we have this game but do not sell until this date" unless you want to sell it for $0.00 and get fired once your boss sees this transaction.

It sounds like the zone hitting option in the game is actually cursor hitting. This is great news for me, I've always preferred hitting this way.

Sounds like the street date has been broken by a fair number of places - they should just go ahead and waive the restriction for all the stores.

Best wishes,

Doug

http://www.operationsports.com/forums/2 ... tails.html

In addition to fixing the bug in the franchise mode that had been causing players to languish in free agency because most teams lacked enough funds to adequately pay free agents, the below bullet points are some of the additional fixes.

* Added the ability for users to accept game invites while playing inside Franchise mode.
* Improved the game response time when there is a loss of connection originating at the user’s network router/hub.
* Addressed an issue where a disconnect would sometimes occur when a user without a HDD attempted to play an Xbox Live Player Match with only a 512MB MU storage device installed.
* An issue regarding playoff tiebreakers occurring after playing through at least 15 years of franchise mode has been addressed. In the unlikely event that 8 or more teams tie for the wild card, the game will now handle the event properly.
* Additional Rich Presence support has been added to the game to help users more easily identify what their friends are currently doing while playing Major League Baseball 2K9.
* If a user had a storage device named using Asian or Russian characters, the title would display these characters improperly. This issue has been resolved.

I'm kind of leaning on getting the 360 version now because it will have better support over the PC version.

I've been reading the impressions over at OS and this game has it's share ofproblems. I'm back to the PC version, LOL. It's hard to go wrong with a twenty dollar investment instead of $60.

From what i've read at the 2K forums the PC version won't get Living Rosters or updates. That sucks if true. :(

QFT, however my concern is that BigfnJoe over at OS, has been having some issues with the game. He's always been a big supporter of the 2k series and a slider guru. He's been having a hard time fixing some things. He's always seemed to have been a straight shooter in regards to the good and the bad of 2k baseball.

I agree with you on BigfnJoe, he always seemed to shoot straight. Problem is the spotlight is on him and the few others that already have the game. People want the dirt and naughty bits, not that 95 out of 100 actual plays went pretty much normal, as normal as they should be in a video game. Focus on those five because your rep is on the line, better catch all the things those idiot reviewers miss in their reviews.

This is why I stay away from these sites and poke at them with my, "been there done that far too many times stick." I will wait until the only judge of a video game that matters, gets his hands on it. I will once again be out of town so here is hoping I get to play it this weekend.

I've been playing the hell out of the demo and can't wait to get my hands on the retail. I've used the Rays so much I may have to play an exhibition game w/them first instead of my Cubs just to finish a game. I feel like I've been stroking myself without the payoff. That swing stick is really starting to grow on me though.

It seems like some people are trying to break the game so they can be the first to find a game killer. I understand being critical and reporting the negative that you come across, but it seems there's hardly been any positive reporting.
