You just keep getting funnier and funnier as the election date gets closer.
We are NOT allowing personal attacks on specific posters. If there is one rule I've tried to have, it's this one. So, starting now, here's the following rule:
For every personal attack, you'll get a yellow card. Two yellows = a red, which means a ban. Probably for a week, maybe until the elections are over.
Some might not like this rule. (PM me if you have any suggestions or opinions, as I am open to them.) However, really, the only big rule I've ever had in these forums is no personal attacks, because it's when those start that the threads die, and when the community atmosphere here really starts to fade. If you think this is too onerous, please listen. This is a basic rule in nearly all moderated forums. That doesn't mean you can't disagree, that doesn't mean you can't be sarcastic, that doesn't mean you can't post your opinion, that doesn't mean you can't be emotional. It just means that you can't attack other users. These forums are more lenient than most other moderated forums I've ever been to, and I want to keep it that way. However, at the same time, I've heard from users saying that they think the politics thread is ruining the forums. I understand where they're coming from; however, that's the action of last resort for me. In the meantime, the best way I can deal with it is to give a clear warning, and then ban for personal attacks.
Again, PM me if you have any questions, comments, etc.
