You are absolutely correct. I was listening to the game on XM on the way home from a grad class and when that ball left Wrigley the place went damn near silent. And then Ron Santo (who is pretty damn bad IMO, sorry Cub fans but he is tough to take) began groaning and sighing about the inning. He sounds like some old guy they grabbed off the street and gave him a mic. Maybe he is an acquired taste. He was a hell of a player though.

O ye of little faith.

I agree tonight is a must win. However, if the Cubs win tonight, I don't think they suffer too much momentum loss. And, to reverse the curse, I seem to recall a certain San Diego team getting the snot pounded out of them in the first two games of the playoffs, only to win three in a row against the Cubs.

So buck up lil' buckaroo, and get yourself a new hat :P
I seem to remember a seemingly "minor league" team with Diamondbacks across their jersey SWEEP the cubs last year.

There aren't any teams with Diamondbacks across the front of their jerseys. Who the hell are you talking about?

Huh? What are u talking about?? The Arizona Diamondbacks maybe?

EDIT: maybe you were trying to be funny, forgot they're the "D-Backs" now. I just know them as the dudes who swept the cubs...

You could have just let it go...yet, you had to go and try to prove me wrong. You brought it down, not me.

The 2nd best thing to seeing the Cardinals win a World Series? Watching the Cubs blow another playoffs. LOL.

Ever heard of reverse psychology? Well in this case, it was reverse convincing. Don't worry. I'm grinning ear to ear seeing the Cubs are currently down 6-0. All you hear are boos throughout the crowd....I love it!

Just brutal to watch this as a Cubs fan. Zambrano came out and pitched pretty well and the Dodgers still kicked them in the teeth. Losing would be bad enough, but losing like this is unbearable.

So far, it reminds me of when the Cards were swept by the Bo Sox in the World Series. It's as if the Cardinals never could get any momentum going, and what little they did was quickly answered by the Red Sox the following inning. Everything that seemed to click during the regular season was lost.

This reminds me of 98 when the Braves played the Cubs after the play in game. It was almost as though they were just happy to be there. I was at Game 3 (of the 3 game sweep) and the fans were terrible.

They clearly shouldn't look that way this year, but it appears to be the case for some reason.

Don't want to see the Dodgers win but I can see a Dodgers vs. Red Sox WS with the story about Manny vs. his old team.

Then again, hasn't Tampa Bay played well against the Sox?

If the Cubs were to win, that might mean the end of the world so maybe it's all for the best.

Tampa had a winning record vs TOR, NYY & BOS during the regular season, very impressive and E. Longoria will raise a few eyebrows.

Cubs are dead in the water. Dodgers/Rays WS.

I hate rooting for the AL but if the Dodgers manage to make it in I'm going to be screaming for their heads. They just look so unbeatable and confident playing in away against the cubs. Who would've thought two months ago this would've been the case??? Never thought Manny could bug me this bad but oh how wrong I was.

The bad news: The Brewers are down 2-0.

The good news: So are the Cubs. :D
