Sorry SD.....since it happened in the first few missions....in the tutorial section of missions...I figured it was okay.
I will be more careful next time.
Ahhh, don't worry about it. I guess I over reacted. I haven't had as much time to play as everyone else, and in hindsight, I suppose it's not really a spoiler. Especially considering if previews and reviews have mentioned such decision making.
Seems we're all unlocking Algonquin at the same time. Make sure you guys call Brucie and do a boat trip or a heli trip as your 'date'. Much more fun than the other activities we've already done a bunch, and if you get your friendship score high enough you unlock helicopter taxi service to a few select points!
I find it's in Algonquin where the game really takes off - like I mentioned before I thought 'Three Leaf Clover' (one of Packie's missions) is one of the best missions in the GTA series. I also found some really novel ways to finish some of the Francis McCreary misssions too - there's a lot of flexibility in how you can complete them and some of them can be done with a minimum of bloodshed.
I'm absolutely loving this game.
Teal - heli tours are by the pier at the south end of Algonquin (I believe) - you can just hop in a cab and select the heli-tours as a destination.
I've opened up Alderney city. I'm only about 51% done however.

Found the helitours-that's some fun, listening to the guide tell all of this crap on the tour, and Niko saying, flatly, 'yeah...wow...okay...'
Standing on a skyscraper, watching the sun disappear over the horizon, the moon come up, and the water do the best reflection on the water I've ever seen...priceless. Also priceless is when I walk to close to the edge and realize that I'm not spiderman...

Try it...and let us know how it turns out...
No but I've sent Carmen off a bike and out of a winshield twice now. She broke up twice. Haha.

After a week with the game I only have two gripes.
1. I wish the game would auto-save when you went to multiplayer matches. It's a pain in the ass having to go back to the safehouse and save if you haven't in a while and you risk losing everything if the game locks up in multiplayer.
2. The controls are much improved but they've got to do something about the camera. Why do they insist on tying it to the left analog stick? The left analog stick should only control moving and not have the camera snap back to being behind Niko. I feel like I'm fighting the camera when that happens and all I want to do is run and look around.
Other than those 2 issues this game is phenomenal.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I couldn't agree more! Really my only gripes as well.

Picking up with Scoop's comments: My biggest gripe is with the jarring aggravation of certain gamey elements. They environment is so beautiful and immersive that it is incredibly frustrating when the game demands that you do something a certain way which totally breaks the verisimilitude of the experience. I have to break the Chinese guy's window. OK, there are 50 different objects on the street (as well as dozens of cars) but I have to hoof it over to the designated spot and pick up the pre-ordained brick and throw it with just the right speed at just the right spot??!!
It's a small thing to be sure, and it probably would'nt be as aggravating were it not for the brilliance of the environmental design...but it's aggravating nonetheless. And who designed the damn typeface/font colors for the cellphone???

The phone is fine when you start getting themes and new background pictures! Geeze...I think that was the point of making it crappy at first. It's like the old school where you had black and white phones and as you progress you get better and better phones. I actually dig the idea.

Spoilers GODDAMMIT!!!
j/k
I seem to remember losing the magic brick on a bad toss. Looked around for about 5 minutes trying to find another before I took out my 9mm and shot the sonofabitch (the window not the storeowner). Worked, but definitely the most jarring example I've come across yet.

That's an excellent design idea, but don't make the first version illegible! LOL You can make it ugly without making reading it difficult

I actually had to turn up the brightness on my LCD to read it...which was a first. The contrast is just bad. Once I did that, it was perfectly legible.

See, you're a much younger and more easy-going human being than I. Me, being a crusty old f---, am not inclined to change a setting on my TV for one f'in game. I'd rather just squint and b*tch about it on an internet forum.
