Yeah, I got that right away. I felt like a perverted old freak since the only two I had at the time were Warm Coffee and "Off the Boat" or whatever.

I didn't get it picking up a hooker; it was after 5 or 6 dates with the girl you first meet. What was funny was they showed the outside of the apartment while all this was going on, and then Niko standing outside afterward, and he says, 'Boy, that woman sure knows how to listen!'

I haven't even picked up a hooker. Don't care to. I've run over a couple, but that's because at speed, I can't drive worth a damn...

That last sentence should probably go in the canon of 'sounds like real life' that db seems to have started...

5 or 6???

Boy, you weren't trying!

She must have been impressed by my second date performance where I got stinking drunk, left the bar with her to find my car gone, then got struck by traffic while staggering around trying to hail a cab.

Have you guys linked up your gamertags on the Rockstar Social Club website yet? It looks like it's going to be a very cool companion to the game...

You guys are a bunch of stinking animals.....no respect for a lady. I took her bowling and to play pool and that was enough to invite myself in for some coffee. She did say before our second date that she was impressed with my new car though (the nice sports car I grabbed after shooting the driver and dragging him out of the door). :)

Our second date was to the Cabaret show. She kept commenting on how strange the crowd was but that didn't stop her from letting me in for a little drilling for oil. Each time I pick her up I'm in a different car too. You'd think that would bother her but I must be layin the salami pretty well if she's willing to overlook it.

This game is absolutely amazing to me. It's like the culmination of the series. I can't believe how much there is to do in this game and how well they did designing Niko. I still haven't had a chance to play any multiplayer yet either. That will change on Friday though!

Anybody know if you can sell stolen cars at the docks as in games past? That was always a good way to make money.

This game has a strange effect on me. When I'm out driving in the real world, I think about how I would be driving if I was in the game right now (swirving and weaving through traffic, blowing through red lights, on my way to my safehouse! :)

Here's the thing I hate about GTA that makes no sense. In some of the missions, after you die, have to restart from the point where you drive another person to the mission site. It pisses me off, when I have to drive all the way across town. Stupid design decision. Yes you can take cabs but the restart point should be when you start the action.

I had to take Roman drinking, and as I was trying to hail a cab, he was run over by it. The next day, I had to pick up Roman from the hospital.

Anyone have Michelle mention how you have the same clothes on? She's said that to me on both dates. Apparently i need to do some shopping. Not that it's prevented me from tappin' that a** both times!!!

There's something...REALLY disturbing about that last sentence...

Yeah, though, the first time she said something about the clothes, I went and bought all new stuff, and stole a really high end sports car. It was shortly after that I received the 'warm coffee' achievement...

How much did Rockstar settle for...with the whole Hot Coffee thing?

Cuz I just dropped Michelle off at the house and I said aren't you going to invite me up, and she said, I'd like to have you over for some coffee, but it would cost at least 20 million....then I said, yeah, we don't want anyone to get burnt.

LOL...so I guess I'd assume they paid 20 mil for something.

 at some of the responses in this thread.

What does my avatar have to do with disrespecting women? I didn't realize having a chuckle at some s*** humor meant I was supposed to be supportive of sexist jokes that openly mock a significant achievement for women. I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around that one fathead.

It had to be done.

I'm with ya. I saw this on the news last night & thought: "Hmm, not bad, but I could do it better"....

I assume you can't play any of the mini-games online w/ friends (pool, darts, etc..)?

This happened to me the other morning as well. It was not new to me. The past GTA games that I spent a fair amount of time with had the same effect on me. Seriously. It's not necessarily me thinking of how I would do something like in GTA, but more of feeling like I should be driving like that.

It's called context Jimmy.

Making euphemisms in a Grand Theft Auto discussion seems par for the course.

Inferring that women are only good for sexual favors in a discussion about a significant achievement for them, not so much.

If that makes me a hypocrite so be it.

I think I was a little underwhelmed at first, having my expectations blown into the stratosphere, but I've definitely moved from 'meh' to 'wow' over the last couple days. I suppose it doesn't help that the first three or so hours are somewhat tutorial-ish, but the increasing interactivity and beauty of the city have their hooks in me big-time. I love the jazz station. I love the new heaviness of the cars. I usually drive from the hood view, which makes controlling things 5x easier, it seems. If there were one thing I'd want in a patch, it would be a real driver's seat view, with hands, steering wheel, and windshield. I don't like not being able to look around with the right stick to see my passengers in the current hood view. Is there a setting I'm missing maybe?

I can't gush enough about the city. Taking the Triborough to the fake Bronx on a mission last night felt so true-to-life.

I'm still left scratching my head over some of the cutscenes. Some are surprisingly good. Some are long, pointless, self-indulgent, tone-deaf, and amateur-hour. The cabaret comes to mind.

So glad they gave me a choice about whether to kill on one of those early missions. My play-time so far has been surprisingly death-free, I'd say... outside of a few drug dealers and more noteable individuals.

The cabaret stuff isn't some much pointless to me as it is bizarre - like in a David Lynch kind of way. Like that guy rolling around the stage in cowboy boots? Lynch-esque to me....

I think the cabaret is meant to be crappy on purpose. I'm assuming as we progress through the game, better entertainment places open up.
