So who's going to be playing online Tuesday. I don't think I'm going to do the midnight release.

How could u even do Free Roam without communication? The whole idea starts with "so, what are we all going to do now that we're all here?"...

I might be on late. I have an away baseball game (I coach) on Tuesday so I won't be playing until at least 8 or 9 :x

Now that I think of it...the team we are playing is pathetic so maybe we will smoke them quickly and I'll be home earlier than expected. Hell, half my team will probably be getting the game so GTA could enter into my pregame speech :)

one quote regarding load times in GTA from team xbox's review:

"There is no menu screen where you choose single player or multiplayer or anything like that. All of that is handled in-game. Instead, you are thrown smack into the story. And outside of reloading failed missions (another nice new feature of the game—you can reload your mission from your phone right afterwards if you fail), that’s about it for loading times."

Just watched a two minute clip of the "Women of Liberty City". Holy cr*p, this series has evolved. The language and the animations (from in the strip club to on the street) had me looking over the shoulder to make sure my kids weren't walking in the room. My wife who couldn't see what I was viewing asked if I was looking at porn. Just about....just about.

I just watched this, and all I could think was, 'wow, that's f'ing stupid'. I get so tired of the idea that in order for a game (or movie, or whatever) to be considered 'adult', it needs some crap that endears itself, ironically, to juveniles. I love the freeroaming aspect of GTA, always have. I just don't see the need for the furry-palmed s***. Hope there's none of that crap that's integral to the story-it's just silly.

I'm with Teal, I hope they don't force you to get it on to progress. I'm sure there's a few missions where you have to go into the strip club. But I hope it's not forced on you. The backseat mini-game in other GTAs were stupid and didn't really provide any gameplay benefit other than for to please the guys that get off on animation. 8O

Um, yeah, that was video was disturbing. It's really hard to defend this kind of stuff in video games, even GTA. I love how the GTA games tackle adult themes, but this kind of stuff just comes off as juvenile.

You guys are too sensitive. Its OK to take a shotgun to a guys head, run your car into a crowd of people, and rob banks, but when a chick starts bouncing her boobs around in front of a guy everyone starts getting upset. Its just nudity, who cares???

exactly. missions in past GTA's include all sorts of horrors (a previous gta had a mission to blow up a school bus for ex.) yet when the "hot coffee" scandal broke, the whole world freaked out...

that said, i'm not really looking forward to virtual STDs. 8O

I just think the whole 'sex' thing is for the basement dwelling 30 somethings that still live with their parents and think that 'comic-con' is the greatest spectacle in the world.

That being said, I don't even care for senseless, gratuitous violence, and put it in almost the same category. But if it's, say, The Godfather, or it's part of a story, as an unfortunate result of bad decisions, desperation, or whatever, alright.

But there's no sense in all the ridiculous, over the top sex baloney. Y'know, they used to show a couple going upstairs, closing the door, and FF to the next morning. They knew then that the audience was smart enough to figure out the in-between. I wish they still did.

I find no humor in this crap. It's just grade school snicker-inducing, or more disturbing, somebody's actually getting off on it...either way, those are the only two purposes for it, and neither is of any real use.

I may be an old fuddy dud, but I'd rather be that than some hairy palmed grown kid thinking that this was cool...

...that said, I still intend to purchase the game. But if that baloney is forced into the story, I won't play the story. I'll just fart around and play online...

The sex stuff in video games always bothers me but not becasue its offensive, but becasue it ALWAYS comes off SO cheesy!

While I can get a decent sense and 'apprceiation' for a very violent game, no game has or will I (most likely) ever do anything to arouse me sexually or make me think that something is 'sexy' or intriguing. Just too hard to pull off in a cyber setting IMO. When done right violence comes off as shocking and entertaining (becasue we know it is avideo game) while sex always comes off as juvenile and cheesy.

I think sex in a game can be just as comical as hitting a guy with a car and watching him fly 50 feet in the air - it's all about how it's done.

Imagine if they put it in multiplayer - oy...

Indigo Prophecy (PS2 or PC). Interesting take on the traditional adventure genre. Ultimately the game fell apart into a big cliche, but it felt very adult at times and really tried to do things differently. Had a nice realistic sex scene where you actually felt the connection between the couple, and where you had some control over how things were going to unfold. That's the only game I can think of that handled the subject of sex well.
