No, that would be the opposite of "exclusive" and def not worth paying $50 million for it. a few good quotes from next-gen(this was pre-release date push):

“The first $25 million is for the first episodic content package that’s supposed to go out and that is in March of ’08. That’s why it moved into current because it’s in the next 12 months. The second $25 million will be for the second episode, and that will be later in fiscal ’08,” Goldstein said.

"By giving this advance, Microsoft did extract from Take-Two the promise to make [GTA IV content] exclusive. But there will not be any downloadable content for PS3, at least for some time. My guess is at least for a year."

More MP impressions from IGN...sounds like great fun.

Team Mafiya Work
Your cell phone plays a major role in the single-player campaign, but is a fairly minor thing in multiplayer. That is, until you play Team Mafiya Work. Throughout the match, you and the competing teams receive text messages assigning you missions from the mafiya. This might mean jacking a specific car, assassinating an informant, or any number of other errands. The team that completes the objective first scores the cash. Just don't get cocky. As soon as one errand is completed, another one pops up on your phone.

While most team-based games play best with just two groups, Mafiya Work is better with more teams. The errands given are usually fairly easy to pull off and something that a small group of three or four people can handle. You get greater chaos and a more competitive match with more teams vying for the same objective.

As in, not many people have it, and it's dodgy at that. But now I'm suddenly very wary of my 360. Maybe buy the 360 version and Gamefly the PS3 one as a backup. This is all complicated by two old college friends who both plan on getting the game, one a 360 owner and the other PS3.

I wish Microsoft were more telling about what the DLC will entail.
What's 'voice chat'? I'm 360 guy.
I just googled "ps3 voice chat". I thought u were talking about a new feature kinda thing, but (if i read it right) ps3 people can't talk to each other online? Is that true?

No, they can, they just don't.

I've read elsewhere that the $50 million was a loan.

Also heard that only the PS3 version can be installed and so loads a bit quicker.

On chat, my USB mic doesn't seem to work on NHL but I can't even tell what others are saying, the voices are so unintelligible through the main audio.

Chat does work on PS3, I was just using it in The Show... I just figure most people won't have headsets. Although with the kind of chatter I imagine there'll be when playing with anyone other than friends, is no voice such a bad thing?

Still, I think it's 360 for me. Unless it's one of those weekends where the game starts appearing early and my 360 isn't back yet.

Wacky. A lot of the GTA online stuff would seem to require chat (esp 'free roam').

Here's a leaked actual intro video with a couple minutes of gameplay mixed in.

Leaked gameplay video is popping up everywhere. It's being taken down on youtube just as quickly as it's going up. But here are some gameplay videos if anyone is interested. These are from the 360 version.

So is this going to be one of those games you can find at non-chain stores days ahead of release? I get that feeling...

Thanks for posting the vids but I am fighting all temptation so I can experience it on my tv and actually in control when I see it for the first time. I've been holding off even reading up on the game because I want it to be fresh going in.

Yeah, it's obviously hitting stores early. The best buys of the world are going to want to take their phones off the hook this weekend.

I love the "air" the guy catches in 2nd video (around 40sec mark). Hilarious. Looks like no pop-up/draw-in either. that's great to see.

I watched the first video just briefly. I then had to stop as I too wanted to experience it all myself the first time in HD.

Well it's kind of a moot point right now since my 360 will not get online and the jerkoffs at tech support can't figure out why.

Where are these sites that assert that the PS3 version looks better?

I've read the differences are very slight. I doubt any of us will be able to tell which one looks better. I'm more concerned about the frame rate on the PS3, but the intro video and brief game play I watched put my mind at ease.

There are none (maybe ps3.com....). Everything I've seen has been the 360 version - that ps3 video above was pulled down.

Either way, is it definitely best to get this game for the 360 if I own both systems?
I have both systems. I am getting it for the 360, my reasoning is you cant beat xbox live plus the DLC.

It'll be weird to look at my 'Friends List' and see practically everyone playing the same game. :D

It was sort of like this when Halo 3 first came out.

If by weird, u mean 'awesome' I agree. 2 words: Free Roam! There's already a few 'fight club' groups forming on the web (360). Basically dudes fighting one-on-one, bare-knuckle... reeedikulous.

A decent quality live feed (360) - warning major spoilers likely:

Yes, the 360 does have limitations.
