Because they're both Texans and because Bush loves baseball. Plus George Mitchell is a Democrat, so Bush probably thinks the Mitchell Report was a witch hunt.sportdan30 wrote:Why is everyone sayinig that he'll get a pardon from the President?
Good call, Inu.
Take care,

Not to change the subject but Bush's last days in office are going to be nothing but getting people out of jail or shredding files.pk500 wrote:Because they're both Texans and because Bush loves baseball. That seems to be what all presidents do
If the FBI can't do both, then what good is the FBI.10spro wrote:Does the FBI and government not have more pressing issues than an athlete playing a game using steroids and not coming clean? I think issues like PED's in sports are well within Congress' responsiblities. This is a matter of public health - we know it's not limited to just Roger Clemens or any of the other names from the Mitchell Report. Just look at football players these days. How long before we see guys that are 400 lbs and can run a 4.4 in the 40? Can we just keep on calling them freaks and praising them for their "freakish" abilities? I am all for government legislating against PED's in professional sports.10spro wrote:Does the FBI and government not have more pressing issues than an athlete playing a game using steroids and not coming clean? Im not black and I dont like people playing the race card...but...Inuyasha wrote:Not a Barry Bonds fan, but how come he didnt get the partisan help that Clemens got? If I was Bonds, I'd feel cheated that nobody came to defend him with the same vigor as that loser Indiana congressman did. At least Bonds is no longer the Coverboy for steroids, I guess he's happy about that.
Has nothing to do with steroids. Once there was a "difference of opinion" in sworn testimony, the subject matter means squat. He could have stolen a pack of bubble gum and lied. FBI isn't going after him for the "gum". They are going after the potential lie, or perjury. Just like Martha Sterwart. It was never about insider trading; it was about the lie to cover up insider trading.10spro wrote:Does the FBI and government not have more pressing issues than an athlete playing a game using steroids and not coming clean? I agree it's ridiculous to go after someone for something like HGH which isn't illegal (AFAIK). But one of the fundamental tenets of this country is the sanctity of truth. I'd fight tooth and nail for that.
yep....you take an oath you be a man...end of story.F308GTB wrote:Has nothing to do with steroids. Once there was a "difference of opinion" in sworn testimony, the subject matter means squat. But that's the thing. Does it take the FBI department to do another full investigation to find out what essentially everyone knows?
Depends on wether or not you consider perjury a crime....Rule of law is the rule of law...An idea that seems to be fading fast...10spro wrote:F308GTB wrote:Has nothing to do with steroids. I heard about that on my way home from getting GTA last night and further cemented Clemens as a total dick. I'm not naive enough to think that athletes don't cheat on their wives. That's not really what bothers me about this whole situation. It's the fact that they met when he was 28 and she was 15. Supposedly nothing happened the night they met but how old do you think she was when they first had sex? Even if she was of age it's pretty sick like he was grooming her and waiting for her to be legal. What a d*****.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
