Toughest? I'm not so sure. I don't know if I'd want to be in the Pacific, banging heads with Anaheim, San Jose and a healthy Dallas eight times each per season.
Most competitive? Probably, along with the Northeast. The resurgence of Ottawa has made that a very strong division, with Buffalo and Montreal also playing well.
And for the second straight season, there's no question which division is the worst -- the Central. I predicted Detroit would go down early in the playoffs last season due to its soft intradivision schedule, and I predict the same fate for the Wings and Nashville this year.
Compare the Northeast or Northwest with the Central, which sees three of its five teams with less than 25 points, and the Central is a joke.
