Even if the most serious injury is a fractured jaw, it's almost certain Roethlisberger has at least a concussion.
Remember, why does a boxer aim for the jaw? Because a strong blow to it is the easiest way to disrupt brain function and knock a guy out.
A strong enough blow to break Roethlisberger's jaw had to jumble his noggin. Hopefully just a little bit, and just temporarily.
Take care,
PK

I know he had some knee problems last year, so maybe that's the only thing that may hold him back for next season. Maybe if he turns out to be ok, we can all laugh at his missing teeth when he runs out there this fall.pk500 wrote:Dan Patrick Show just reported these injuries for Big Ben:

It wasn't me - I swear!Sudz wrote:heard it was a guy with a MAINE plate driving.
Though Maine doesn't have a helmet law either. I see plenty of idiots riding around - today I saw a guy on a Yamaha street bie smoking.
I guess the only positive side effect is it removes some of these fools from the gene pool.

Cowboys Safety Keith Davis was shot (AGAIN) during a drive-by this morning.
Apparantly he was driving down the freeway at 5 am this morning and someone pulled up next to him and opened fire. ESPN first reported that he had passed but the Dallas Morning News is saying that he is stable and wounds aren't considered life-threatening.

Bruce goes over 1000 receiving yards for the season yesterday with a game to go...wco81 wrote:Bruce is no spring chicken. Hasn't he been injured a lot recently?
The ESPN guy says teams have used the cap a lot as an excuse to get rid of big contracts.
I've heard some people say Curtis may be better at this point.

Critics have hinted that Bruce, 34, has lost a step or two. He should have silenced some of them, at least, by collecting nine catches for 148 yards and a touchdown Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. Those marked team highs for the day, and season highs for Bruce.
For the year, Bruce has 70 receptions for 1,042 yards the eighth time he has topped 1,000. He boosted his career totals to 883 catches and 13,310 yards, both No. 7 in NFL history.
Not bad for a washed up old man eh?..Im so very glad the Rams didnt give up on him the way the did on Henry Ellard over a decade ago....

Damn Vince Young! So long playoffs, so long season for the Bills.
I must admit, I was a bit of a Young doubter entering this season. Thought he was a poor man's Ron Mexico.
Now I think Ron Mexico is a poor man's Vince Young.
Take care,
PK

The Dolphins have two QBs rated higher than Quinn. Why would they take him at #9?
Now, I don't agree that Ginn was the pick at 9...that's for sure. He shoulda been picked in the 20's at best...but Quinn wasn't going to get picked regardless of what the talking heads on the broadcast thought.
You'll see Beck, Stanton or Edwards in a Miami uni next year...so that will solve the young QB issue. And of course Trent Green will be the starter.

After a weird and depressing offseason thus far I could not be any more thrilled that the Bears drafted Oleson. I think I may need Varak to come over and pinch me so I can be certain that the Bears did in fact draft the top TE available in the draft.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I'm pleased with the Bills' pick of Lynch with their first pick. The Bills needed an RB, LB and CB, and I think Lynch was a solid choice.
Lynch must be stoked, too. If he even has a halfway-decent camp, he'll start in Week 1. Not too tough when your competition is A-Train Thomas, Shaud Williams and Fred Jackson.
Take care,
PK
