I wasn't real happy with the Bears not getting a TE. I would have liked to have seen them stay put and draft Marcedes Lewis from UCLA, rather than use the Buffalo pick on a D-II db who was too dumb to get into Nebraska! But Angelo is pretty good at finding these players and making them productive. He's put together a terrific defense over the last few years, and getting Griese filled their top offensive need of providing more stability at QB.
The good news is, Dusty Dvoracek could provide a white trash defensive line presence not seen since the days of Steve McMichael.

Well he was injured as well...the guy just will flame out in the NFL...he's not mentally smart enough to figure out coverages when he's playing WR and he's too much of a gambler playing CB. Disagree all you want, but I just go by what I see in every Hurricanes game he's played in.
Since when did have to be smart to get on the football field and make plays?
That's why I don't buy that "he's not smart enough" stuff some 'Cane fans throw out there. When you have a talent like Hester, you get him out on the field. No excuse for that. Not smart enough to read coverages? Make it easier for him. Mack Brown did it for Vince Young. How hard is it to give him the ball out of the backfield? Didn't look to hard for him against LSU. He was the only threat out there. Sure enough, Coker and crew stopped using him. Maybe it had something to do with using Hester all those plays in a row. Did they even bother to use him as a decoy in that game? What about all season?
And he did fine on defense the year before. On a defense that sucked, he was one of the bright spots later in the year. Ok, he gambled. Who doesn't? Playmakers do that sometimes. That doesn't mean you take him off the defense altogether.
But I guess we see different things out there on the field. All I know is I can't get on the players much because Coker and friends had no clue as to what they are doing. And I'm not too optimistic about these new coaches, either. Andrew Johnson and James Bryant are already heading down the same path as Hester. Or are they not too smart as well?

TJ Duckett in a Steelers' uniform makes so much sense it has to get done at some point.
What's with the late graduation date at Ohio State? It's costing Holmes valuable time learning the system due to some stupid rule:
It's pretty funny that the Lions are just getting screwed by Harrington and his agent. Does any professional sports franchise have worse upper management (besides the Hawks)?
They try to trade him during the draft but because they let Harrington talk to other teams, he already said he will ONLY play for Miami. Then Joey tells the other teams that he will not restructure his contract for them, only Miami. End of trade discussions. Then the Lions have the audacity to ask for a higher pick from Miami when the Dolphins KNOW that they are the only team that Joey will go to. Yeah right. So now the Dolphins can just wait till June 1 and then they get him for nothing. The Lions, knowing that they f'd up big time, now claim the Dolphins went against the rules and discussed contract details with Harrington, when it was damn clear that they gave Joey permission to talk to them. The NFL promptly told them to F off and that the Dolphins were allowed to discuss the contract with him.
WTF...are they just stupid? Well, that's pretty much been answered since Millen arrived.

I believe Staley is in the last year of his contract. Even though the Steelers added some speed at WR, I still think they are going to run the football a ton so there is room for Staley, Parker, and Duckett with Haynes as the 3rd down back. Duckett would replace Bettis.

I hear rumblings on the local sports shows that they don't seem to have a lot of confidence in Duce playing the backup role as Bettis did last year and they have been trying to get Duckett for a while now and this off season may be their best opportunity as it looks as though Atlanta is willing to deal him.

The Wirtz family's "management" of the Chicago Blackhawks should be taught in business schools around the world as the benchmark for bad management.

The Lions players get 2 days off with pay because 1 or more players files a greivance. Apparently practices were too tuff for the franchise with THE worst record in football the last 5 years. WTF is this? Sends a strong message to fans about how much this team wants to win and how hard they are willing to work for it.

Is there a way that the coaching staff can find out who filed the grievance? I would imagine that it would be classified.

It was a sixth rounder in the 07 draft and it's upgraded to a possible 5th if he hits some playing time benchmarks. And ya know what...he's better than Cleo Lemon or Brock Berlin (the other two Dolphin QBs)...that's what counts. He's only there as insurance for Culpepper...
What...am I the first to see this or are all of the Steelers fans hanging from the rafters after killing themselves.
Big Ben crashed his motorcycle...the injuries have yet to be released, but it doesn't sound good when the guy flips over the handle bars and then cracked his head on the cars windshield. He went Kellen Winslow on the Steelers. Of course he didn't have a helmet on.
I am pretty sure that Ben was allowed to ride his motorcycle. He's a big motorcycle guy, so I'm sure he wouldn't sign a contract unless he was allowed to.
Roethlisberger was riding a Suzuki Hayabusa, which is about the fastest production bike available on the street. What a imbecile for riding any bike -- especially a bike like that -- without a helmet.
Take care,
