Okay, I am going to go ahead and say that this is definitely my favorite non-sports online 360 game so far.

I have played this for quite a few hours in total now and am just having much more fun than I expected. There is a very addictive quality and a nice jump in and play feel. I have also no realized that I am MUCH more inclined to play and have fun with server hosted online games as opposed to individually hosted ones, especially with strangers. I first realized this with COD2 and that the lack of be able to create a game actually helped the playability for me as far as playing with strangers went. Now the same goes for BF2. In GRAW online (again with strangers) it can take FOREVER to get into the right matched game and then take even longer for the host to start it. Then they always seem to change the settings at the last second to a combo that I don’t like. On top of that, I have to listen to the little brats screeching “start the freakin’ game already!”. I also seem to get booted from the lobby before the game even starts quite a bit.

BF2 is so easy to just jump into a quick game and not even use the headset and have a ton of fun. Communication is nice in this game with the right group, but it is tons of fun and doable without any communication. I just like that there is no host, no waiting around but still have the ability to boot players via a vote. Also, after many hours online, I have yet to run into any intentional team killing or overly kiddy gameplay.

I absolutely love the balance of the different classes and weapons. They each have some seriously cool things about them and it’s so fun to switch off at every respawn. The maps are absolutely fantastic and just blow away GRAW’s.

This should definitely be the game to get an official DSP Clan going…in fact I am going to start a new thread for the BF2 DSP Clan roll call!

I second that. Most fun I've had online with the 360 yet in the matches I've played of BF2. All of them seem to have those moments where I'm left going "wow!!!!" from time to time.

I have yet to meet a TK either, and most of the matches I've been a part of have been a lot of fun. Getting sniped, then switching to sniper and getting the guy back because he failed to move was great.

I still have yet to actually get into a helicopter online; they're always taken lol. But the vehicles are a ton of fun, and it's just as fun to try to take them out when you're on foot with an engineer or something.

Just great, great balance.

TOTALLY agree with all your comments TC.

You should join the DSP Clan and halp get this thing off the ground! (I should probably re-add you to my friends list too if that's cool)

Also, for whatever reason (and I'm not sure why), the controls seem "easier" to me than in most FPS games. It's easier to aim, easier to snap the crosshairs on somebody, and easier to get the fine adjustments I need...which lead to a lot of quick, bloody shootouts.

It seems I get a lot more kills in this game than in any other FPS, and leaping out of choppers and pulling the chute at the last second in a HALO-style drop is pretty damn sweet.

So much to it, and the most fun I've had with "randoms" in any game for quite some time. I have no idea how the whole clan concept works, but I assume it's pretty straightforward?

I agree with all the praise, and also how frustrating it is finding a game in GR:AW. I'm going to be sinking a ton of time into this one.

I agree too... there is something about watching a helicopter coming blasting missiles down on you that is really cool.

EXACTLY!!! There don't seem to be any cheap kills or unnecessary 'dancing' around and shooting. The controls feel extremely natural and the health depletion to hit ration is perfect.

Anyone still playing this? I just got my GF copy yesterday.

Edit: When I posted this, I got the thread off of page 2(never refreshed page 1 for some reason)... so I did not read anything as I thought everything here was old.

I play it a ton as well, but I still am more paced for GRAW than this, my son however, just ask a few OSers, dude regularly ends up in the 40 point range after matches.

You want an awesome teammate look him up, he is on now infact. My boys GT is SD Kev. I dont play as much as he does, but I do find it quite fun, mine is Boltman35.

We are already in the OS clan, but we are both more than down for some online mayhem.

How does one pull the chute out? I've yet to figure it out. Is it only certain classes?

Just run off a ledge and hit Y.

It's all classes, to my knowledge.

It is, because that's where I found it. It's in a control diagram.

I totally agree Terry and Spooky. This game is just a pure blast to play online.

Damn you DSP! Damn you!

I won a few hundred playing Poker at the Casino on Monday night and gave it back last night. Now I need to drop another $60 on this game?

When will it end.

See you boys online.

Wow, fun game! I love the choppers!

Yeah, great pick up and play, run and blast game. Reminds me of Battlefront.

Glad I grabbed it!

Grabbed a copy yesterday and played for a bit online last night.

Simply a blast.

I'm a SNIPER by nature, preferring to sit and pick people off than to run headlong into battle and hope for my slow reflexes to save me. The greatest thing about this game is that it LETS me do that; I don't have an unfair advantage over others and can either be a detriment (by NOT going after the enemy flag etc.) to my team or massive aide (by protecting our flag, for example) depending upon my ability to find a good spot.

If you'd prefer to carry an automatic weapon and attack, you can. If you prefer to drive/fly and either transport our guys or engage the enemy, you can. It's an entirely open-ended gameplay allowing each person to fulfill the role that suits him best.

The draw distance is phenomenal, so I can SNIPE from 300 yards or more, even though it's easy to miss at that range and beyond.

Truly one of the better online games I've played in a long time, reminds me of Team Fortress with MUCH larger maps and the addition of vehicles.

Don't think I'll tire of this one. Don't get me wrong, I love GRAW, but a good game of GRAW requires having people you know/like to play with (DSP'ers) since it's slow and strategic. BF2 is great with random strangers. Being strategic will certainly make your team a winner, but it's fun for all either way.

Highly recommended.

Yeah, I noticed yesterday that they are alternating between the chute and free falling by tapping the Y button to avoid being hit.

You have to target a vehicle first then hold down the right trigger. The box wll begin to lock around the target and you need to keep the reticle one the target the whole time while holding the right trigger down. Eventually, you will see a message that says target aquired. After that, you're gold.

Sometimes this game makes me want to break something. Many times I have 12 spawns and around 1-3 kills. Sooooo frustrating. I need to learn I can't aim for jack so I should use alternate methods for getting points ect....

Its not uncommon for me to die 3 times in under 45 seconds.

But then other times when I do good, it just makes me want more. My last game last night I was 6/6 kills/spawns(ok, not great) but I had SIX flags!! Thats the most I have ever had.

So, evertime I want to throw my controller, I just remind myself that thing cost 50 bucks.... The desire goes away quickly.
