Let Snyder keep throwing money around. Based on the moves they've made so far, I still don't see them as a playoff team.

Yes I forgot. Still, all that money for a first round exit 1 year? Still not much to show for all the money they've spent the past few years.
Well, as a Redskins fan, those two playoff games this season that you seem to forget were huge and had been a long time coming. Maybe they weren't important enough playoff games for others, or something, but I remember them well.
The goal now is to win the division (one hopes this season every team in the division will get an equal number of home and away games), and get a playoff game at home.
What big-time free agents did the Skins go after last year? What top players at their position did they target? Gibbs being in charge makes a very big difference as to the offseason strategy of the Skins. Besides paying Moss a multi-year deal that everyone thought was ridiculously out of bounds (in order to move the disgruntled Coles and his bad toe), they didn't do much last offseason except shore things up with depth. This year, the coaches know what areas they need to address, what specific players they want, and the Danny pulls out all the stops and signs 'em up, assist to Gilbert and the Wizards beating the Pistons on the 'boys night out.'
Don't be too enamored of this Archuleta deal; chances are he renegotiates every year (as has Samuels, Thomas, Jansen, etc) to make his cap number more palatable. Now they need help at LB, OL (Dockery is as good as gone if anyone wants to pay him anything), CB and a punter. Losing Clark is a hit, so more depth there, especially depending what happens with Taylor. A big short-yardage back would be nice, too, but that would mean one of the four backs we have now would have to go.
No matter what, the Skins are far better positioned this year than they were going into last year. The whole division should be better again this year, so I think it's really up for grabs.
