Why does Sawyer care about the guns?

He's blowing his chance to nail Kate with his attitude.

Cause he is not a nice person, he has never done anything good in his life. :)

I thought the whole episode was just plain odd, it is nice to see everyone isn't all of the sudden a saint, but they just made two borderline characters totally unlikeable.

Imo that's a good thing. Good episode after a string of fairly boring ones for me. They had neutered Sawyer to the point of cuddliness up until this episode and Charlie has been swinging to the darkside from the beginning with them just continually dangling the carrot. I thought both developments were overdue.

Last night's episode was very good, I thought for sure Anna Lucia had something to do with the roughing up of Sun. Next week looks very interesting with them leaving the timer run out.

Yea, it appears Charlie did the roughing up, and was in cahoots with Sawyer. I as well can not wait to see what happens when it hits zero.

On OS I posted what this other guy thought zero would mean, I kinda agreed. But now I am not sure.

We were talking about the 0 thing at work today and I said, wouldn't it be funny if ABC had the balls that when it hit 0 the island blew up, fade to black, end of series roll credits.

Now personally I'd hate it, I love the show and I know they would never do that. But imagine the press it would get lol

Yeah, I was saying the same thing too.

I'm convinced that it's there to psychologically control the group and have them working towards a common goal.

BTW, if you haven't seen it, check out this month's Esquire (the one with Vigo Mortensen on the cover). There are some smoking hot pictures of Evangeline Lily along with a brief interview. She says the producers have the show roughly mapped out for six seasons and that the show isn't going to do anything cheap like have everyone be in purgatory.

I liked last week's episode too. They didn't pull any punches with Sawyer's backstory. Also, I was wondering, when Sawyer was in the diner, does he get served by Kate's mom?

Yes, it was most definitely her mother.

And damn, what a thoroughly entertaining episode tonight.

Those images on the timer when it counted down could be the symbols for other bunkers on the island.

Oh man, I can't wait for the next episode.

Is anyone else tired of Jack? I am tired of his holier-than-thou attitude this year. It seems like the writers really haven't given him much to do so far this season.

My wife and I were watching last night, and it seemed everything Jack did pissed us both off. Sayid is a great character, and he knows what he is doing, but Jack listens to no one. So irritating.

Did everyone catch the pic of young Kate held by the military guy (her father) on the truck with Sayid?

I think he's starting to get a bit pissed because people aren't really listening to him much anymore. I was surprised when he told Locke to "Shut up" point blank.

I wonder what this guy they captured is going to end up spilling?

Yuppers. Little things like that just make you go, "Aaaahhh, that's cool."

All of these coincidences are just insane though. I wonder if on an episode somebody's going to actually point out a lot of these crossovers. It's getting pretty obvious that they're all here for a reason and they were all brought in together.

I don't think that we'll find out why they've been brought together until S3 or S4 though.

A Clancy Brown sighting, too.

Get that man another series. He made Carnivale, IMO.

Too many cocindences that all of these people's lives seem to overlap. I think the first was Jack and the guy that was manning the hatch when they blew it open.

Maybe I just heard wrong, but when Sayid was interrogating the guy, the first time he said his wife's name was Murphy, but later it was Jennifer.

This is tought show to watch with kids running around. I think I've missed a lot of little details because of it.

These coincidences are just crumbs to keep you on the trail. For another 2 or 3 seasons.

The question is, are they leading you to somewhere good or is it a goose chase?

I'm finally starting to burn out on this show.

Just too slow. I had the same problem with the X-Files and dropped that one about two seasons in also.

I have no emotional interest vested in any of the characters, and I only watch bits and pieces of the show myself. I usually follow the post-show internet threads to see what bit of devlish puzzlement the last show revealed, however.

It's kind of like playing one of those old PC adventure games from afar.
