Wow. He really did have some issues. It's a shame no one was able to help him nor was he able to reach out to them or his family.redneck wrote:Here's a link to a capture screen of James' MySpace profile.

I don't get it? How can you tell he had some issues because of his myspace profile? It looked like a typical college kids profile to me.sportdan30 wrote:Wow. He really did have some issues. I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Agreed. Hindisght is 20/20 and all that. Anyone who says they can tell from the kids page that he had issues and was therefore a suicide candidate is talking directly out of the deepest recesses of their ass. (And no, I'm not saying anyone here went that far.)ScoopBrady wrote:I don't get it? How can you tell he had some issues because of his myspace profile?
Without even having looked at more than like 5 myspace pages in my life, I would feel very comfortable saying that you would find that there are millions right up there with Dungy's on the weird, immmature or whatever you wanna call it scale. I'd also bet you that of those millions none, or almost none, of those kids will be killing themselves.
C'mon now.
If you don't think there are a ton of black college and high school age kids spouting off similar rhetoric in an attempt to be down (or for whatever reason), then you need to get out more.webdanzer wrote:Heroes:ScoopBrady wrote: I don't get it? the D.C. Snipers, cause they let ya'll crackas kno tha ya'll aren't carzy race in the world
I hope that's not a typical college kid....
You know you're right; I was thinking I don't hang out with high school kids enough...Hood wrote:If you don't think there are a ton of black college and high school age kids spouting off similar rhetoric in an attempt to be down (or for whatever reason), then you need to get out more.webdanzer wrote:Heroes:ScoopBrady wrote: I don't get it? Oh, I don't see anything in there that shows imminent suicide or anything like that, and I think the gangsta-weed pic is on the money.
My statement still stands, though. I really hope that the 'typical' college kid doesn't consider the DC snipers to be heroes, or would even publicly list them as such.

And now the "lower than whalesh!t" scumbags enter in. Its bad enough when autograph seekers show up at the funeral, soliciting signatures, but today a guy got caught at the gravesite, pulling the cards signed by players(both Colts and Bucs)off the dozens of flower arrangements, supposedly to resale on ebay. A gaurd has been posted to protect the gravesite. What some people won't stoop to

"I want to urge you to continue being who you are because our young boys in this country, they need to hear from you. If anything, be bolder in who you are. Our boys are getting a lot of the wrong messages about what it means to be a man in this world. About how you should act. How you should dress. How you should talk. And how you should treat people. They don't always get the right message, but you guys have the right messages."

Guys,
This kind of spooked me a little. I have a young 16th month old son. From everthing I hear from the media, T. Dungy is one heck of a person. He really seems like he would do an amazing job as a parent. If his son can have enough problems to kill himself, it can proably happen to anyones kid. Scary. Dont get me wrong, i am not saying he did anything wrong as a parent. Just been thinking, even if you do everything right, tragedy can still strike your children, outside of really anything you do. Again SCARY!!!! Oh well, back to Pokerstars.com

While this is all true, and with all the respect in the world to Tony Dungy, the demands of an NFL coach require an inhuman amount of dedication to the job. The plain fact is that Dungy wasn't around his son much, with him working his tail off in Indianapolis and all over the country, and his son in Florida.
So while everything I've heard indicates that Dungy is a wonderful man, his ability to be an involved and dedicated father have to be compromised by his job. And that, I believe, would be the major difference between you as a father and someone like Dungy.

yeah good point AJ, did not even think about all the time away. That cant be good, can you imaging the guilt Tony is proably feeling about that, unimaginable. Still, once you have kids, all of these stories reach you at a whole different level. I thought empathy was some sort of mixed blue moon drink untill i became a parent.
