I'm just going to wait until the 16th, and then try the week of Xmas as several stores (BB, Meijer, Sams Club, Walmart) have all told me they will be resupplied for the last week. But considering most are expecting between 20-100 untis I'm not sure how long that will last.
If it doesn't happen then, i will just wait until early next year.

My favorite 360 moment was standing in line at 7:30 AM at my local EB on Black Friday. I was getting a copy of Indigo Prophecy, and I was just waiting and listening to the 2 people behind me.
Guy: "Oh yeah, they have them."
Girl: "Are you sure?"
Guy: "Positive. Let me call your Mom."
Guy: (On Cellphone): "We found them! Yeah, we are over at EB. Should I get one for John?"
Girl: "Are you sure?"
Guy: (Hanging up phone) "OF course I am sure. See those boxes? They wouldn't have those boxes out there if they didn't have any 360's. No way. We are golden."
I left the store before their bubble was burst.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Im shooting for the same scenario. I think it should be fairly easy to score one on the 16th.Danimal wrote:I'm just going to wait until the 16th, and then try the week of Xmas as several stores (BB, Meijer, Sams Club, Walmart) have all told me they will be resupplied for the last week. Sometimes fate, shes a b*tch.
I gave up yesterday with my daily morning routine, so at lunch i had to go to the Target I had been checking every morning last week to get an Xmas present. Well as luck would have it they had them in yesterday morning and sold out by 8:30.
Well at least I laughed about it, I think the craze to get one has left me.

The guy at my Best Buy told me they have to hold 20 for the 18th, but if they get more they can sell them on the 16th. Her says they were exepcting 100 (which I think is unlikely) so that means I'd have a better chance on the 16th.fsquid wrote:Best Buy has told its stores to have 20 premiums held until the 18th (a Sunday) because they are putting it in their ad flyer in newspapers. I plan on being there on the 18th when they open.

Dan, They could have just been saying that. I know the stores or just saying anything at this point.Danimal wrote:Sometimes fate, shes a b*tch.

From we won't have it until the Browns win the Superbowl to we got rid of them just like Mariucchi. (Sorry I just read Bill's blog and the Detriot/Cleveland gripes are hilarious).

I guess, but I called 2 other Targets right after hearing that and they both told me the same thng, all of these stores were within 15 miles of each other. One of the guys I work with is pissed, because he called the Target at 8:30 yesterday and they said they had none, so who knows.JRod wrote: Dan, They could have just been saying that. My Theory
My theory on the 360.
There is no recall, that is correct. Microsoft has stopped shipping 360's because of the overheating issue and hiccups they have found. They know what the problem is and they fixed it and now they are producing "new" 360's. Look at the time frame. The next batch will hit next week, and that will be 3 weeks after the initial launch about 4-6 weeks since the original batch was produced. They are replacing and/or fixing any 360's that are having problems. If they had a full recall, it would be a disaster. I think they knew of the problem and launched anyway to avoid bad publicity. We will know, one day, in the near future. Mark my words. Something wacky happened and to avoid bad press and complete humiliation, Microsoft is using the excuse that they are selling out. Think about it, NO ONE, not anyone in the US can say they saw or bought a 360 after the launch day for about two weeks. Call all the stores you want, they have recieved ZERO, nada, zilch.Pretty starnge, huh. (Also, don't believe anyone who works for MICROSOFT. They won't tell the truth, well, because not everyone knows the truth. They are looking out for the best interest of the company, not your best interest. That's business).

Re: My Theory
Sure, except you forgot that Microsoft shipped over a million units to England and Japan who have or will soon launch. The reason the US hasn't gotten anymore is simply because the units all went to the other launch territories. Once those launches are complete, you will start seeing 360's in the retail channel again as Microsoft fills the US with the production since the Japanese launch. With certain presumptions, I would guess that Microsoft can make around 100,000 units per week at full production. Those units have ALL gone to other countries. As of next week, they will have at least another 200,000 units ready to hit the US channel.Kissrox wrote:My theory on the 360.

If the machine had a glitch that needed to be fixed it would've taken LONGER to fix (re-tool manufacturing etc.).
AND
If it has a glitch they would NOT stop manufacturing or selling them unless it affected EVERY unit. It's still cheaper to replace/repair the bad units than it is to recall existing units; shut down manufacturing, repair damaged public image etc.
